So the summer so far has been fairly poor, July especially so.
Will August buck the trend and end up average or better than average, or will it continue the extremely cloudy and cool conditions that have dominated the first half of July?

I don't think it'll be a wet month, but certainly cooler and cloudier than a typical August.
Prediction:
Avg max: 21c Avg min: 12c Rainfall: 40mm Sunshine: 120 hours

Very bad. It will have less than 100 hours of sunshine and way below average highs.

Don't think it'll be quite as bad as 2008 or 2010 (the benchmark for atrocious Augusts), but it'll be worse than August 2015, which was really bad.

Iβd guess slightly warmer than normal, slightly drier than normal, and slightly cloudier than βnormalβ
I say βnormalβ because with 16 years in a row below avg or whatever it is itβs kinda obvious whatβs normal has hamged

I don't think we will be seeing any 81-10 average months again.

I'd say that it will be about average/slightly below average in temperatures, and cloudier than normal with average precipitation; temperatures would be around 22/15Β°C.

It will be bad. Another fucking shit August to follow this abomination of a month with daily stratocrapulus, cool winds and zero sunshine. What a fucking shit July this has been, just when the days are at their longest we canβt even have an average month, it has to be cool and cloudy π‘π‘π‘
You know sometimes after our shit winters when we have excellent spring months (see April-May this year) I start thinking maybe itβs not so bad here. Surely if we can get regular above average months in Spring and Autumn it must be possible in summer youβd think? And then just as summer starts those positive anomalies shift to stratocrapulus herp derp rain cold Gole arse licking south westerlies autumnal 20C cloudy days π‘π‘π‘π‘

It's been awful. I'm starting to doubt whether we will see a sunny or hot August in the 2020s at all.
I guess eventually the collapse of August will stop, as it's impossible to record negative sun hours.

Not sure why there's no option to tick all the boxes, because it will be awful by every measure. 2007 and 2008 will compare favorably to 2020.

We've had regular hot summer months over the last 20 years or so too. It's only really August that has been consistently bad. You've got to take the rough with the smooth when you live in a shit summer climate unfortunately. It's just frustrating isn't it. I've thought about going abroad again for work, but I'd miss my daughter's too much. Maybe in 10 years or so I'll work abroad again, but if I had no kids I'd be gone already. I'd love to live in Palma again. Beautiful weather pretty much every day from mid May to September. Or so it felt anyway.

There have been a healthy mix of good and bad Junes/Julys over the last 20 years. It's almost non-stop crap Augusts though.

None of the above. It will be a dry, warm and sunny month.
