Milwaukee record is 105F/41C on 1934-07-24. The day before and after were 85 and 84 (29C) but Madison was hot all week with three 100 degree days. Milwaukee must have gotten a lake breeze all but one day. The only other 40C was the same summer, 104F/40C on 1934-06-01. 104 on June 1st is insane. The next day had a high of 63. Melbourne summer weather. I will post in the monthly summary thread
For some context at how hot 104 on June 1st is, the record high for May (150 year POR) is 95F/35C in 2018. So if this was a day earlier it would destroy the May record. The most 100's in a year was six in 1988. Madison's hottest was 107 on 1936-07-14. This month had seven days reach 100F, three days reach 40C. The most intense heat Madison has ever seen, along with many other cities in the midwest. Milwaukee only reached 101F that month. The next highest was 104F/40C on a single day in 2012, 1976, and 1901.

The closest station to me, Mineola (which is now closed, and 1-2 miles from me), set its all-time record of 108F (42C) on July 6, 2010. Here are some NY State records, some of which look pretty dubious (116 in Jan ). I'm confident in the Mineola record, as nearby Wantagh hit 107F that same day.

25th July 2019 - 35.6°C. Remember that day, air felt soupy and suffocating. Hopefully, it will never happen again.

38.9c at Darwin Airport on this very day 18th Oct 1982. I remember the day like yesterday, as the day before I'd been caught in a bushfire out in Kakadu National Park, and my new 4wd was destroyed.

The highest temperature of everyone’s location has happened 4 billion years ago, way before 1850, since the entire Earth was scorching and covered in lava during its early days.

107 F (42 C) on Jul 14, 1936.
Elsewhere in Wisconsin: Eau Claire: 111 F (44 C) on 7/13 and 14/1936 Prairie du Chien: 110 F (43 C) on 7/22/1901 La Crosse: 108 F (42 C) on 7/14/1936 and 7/13/1995 Rhinelander: 108 F (42 C) on 7/13/1936 - impressive for the location! Appleton: 107 F (42 C) on 7/13/1936 Wausau: 107 F (42 C) on 7/13/1936 Milwaukee: 105 F (41 C) on 7/24/1934 Green Bay: 104 F (40 C) on 7/13/1936
State record is 114 F (46 C) in Wisconsin Dells on 7/13/1936. That 1936 heat wave holds the record in all the places I mentioned except Milwaukee and Prairie du Chien (in both of which the record is even older than 1936). Truly legendary.
