Yesterday barely touched 13C in Alice Springs, and most of the day sat on 10-11C. The 3pm temp was 10.8C. Extremely cold again today, merely 14C forecast... if it even gets there.
Polar assault in full tilt here. Tomorrow forecast up to 20mm of rain.

Got to 83 (28 c) despite the heavy smoke. There was some light ashfall and more the first yellowish skies since Labor Day. Nothing will compare to that but today was probably the smokiest day since then with a thick yellow layer all afternoon.

October has already become a wetter than average month after the first 5 days, with 72.6mm recorded at Heathrow!
The first week will come in around 2c below average.

Looks like my new location is colder this morning than Spring Church (Washington, PA versus Butler)

Not one but two days with highs above 20C this week, and our coldest low in the forecast is only -1C. Great October so far!

High was 84 (29 c) today, just missing the daily record by 1 f.
October is now averaging 76.6/38.7 f!
Thats +8.4 f on the highs yet -1.5 f on the lows, the dry, sunny weather combined with the drought has led to consistent high diurnals the past 2 months.
Tomorrow and Friday will threaten daily records again before returning to more seasonable weather over the weekend.

^ Babu and yet that's still the exact opposite of what I'd consider acceptable summer weather.

^ Babu and yet that's still the exact opposite of what I'd consider acceptable summer weather. Swedish definition of "summer". Normal world's definition of the arctic circle.

Climate Zones of Pennsylvania, whoops I mean fall foliage Certainly shows the dividing line clearly between peaking/near peaking areas and those that have just started. Clear line between warm transitional/subtropical (green) and continental/cold continental (yellow to red) Last weeks

Getting worried about Hurricane Delta... Just had a relentless downpour this evening (my digital gauge recorded 4.68"). The saturated ground will make it easier for trees to topple when Delta comes tomorrow evening. Plus possibly another 5-12 inches on top of what we already had.
