I was curious, so I looked up the last few years of when meteorological summer would end in OKC if we followed Swedish standards. 2019: Oct 27 2018: Nov 7 2017: Nov 5 2016: Nov 28 2015: Nov 26

Beautiful fall foliage now, near peak Iβd say. Far better than anything in Rochester with the possible exception of 2018.
Almost the trees are gorgeous yellow or dull orange, none of the sickly bright orange and red and brown in Shitchester.
High was 83 (28 c) today, again missing the daily record by 1 f.

Getting worried about Hurricane Delta... Just had a relentless downpour this evening (my digital gauge recorded 4.68"). The saturated ground will make it easier for trees to topple when Delta comes tomorrow evening. Plus possibly another 5-12 inches on top of what we already had. Keep safe!

Almost 60mm of rain has fallen this week so far in UmeΓ₯. The 1961-1990 average for October is 62mm.

About 104 mm over the past 2 weeks and a half @ Montsouris, the vegetation says thank you. :-)

How much did you get from Laura in August? I had 5.66" from Laura. Already getting close to that amount with Delta (about half an inch away) with the main part of the storm yet to come. The worst flooding I've seen from a hurricane was with Gustav in 2008. 15+ inches of rain over part of the area - a lot of it came with a rain band that stalled more than a day after the storm passed. www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/tropical/rain/gustav2008filledrainblk.gif

Delta has made landfall.
Conditions deteriorating here with some strong wind gusts. Power went out briefly earlier, but probably wonβt be long until it stays out.

Don't think ral31 was too badly affected by Laura, just rather scary

Hearing of houses getting flooded in the area unfortunately. Iβm thinking strongest winds will come over the next few hours but maybe not as strong as previously expected.

Damn, our epic 26C forecast for today got downgraded to only 22C. Oh well, still very nice for mid-October. This will almost certainly be our last day above 20C until probably April, so gotta enjoy it while it lasts.

Never lost power through the storm other than power flickering twice! Seems like we got the strongest wind gusts after torrential rainfall subsided. A number of branches down but considerably less than Laura from what I've seen. Winds seem to have underachieved here at least. Flooding was the main issue with Delta. I had 13.07" of rain since Thursday (8.20" yesterday)! Radar estimates to my south of over 20" over past 2 days.

Cloudy but with sunny spells. Min 11C and max 14C in Riga. Golden autumn hasn't started here and still not in the Vidzeme Upland where it is normally cooler, a picture from Sigulda:

was biking in a deep valley in the Berkshires with fall colors lining the hills. Was thinking the North Carolina mountains must have river valleys with much taller sides full of fall colors Yahya Sinwar just found this photo, get out there before it goes!

I was at Rib Mountain near Wausau, Wisconsin yesterday. I don't have any pictures, but the leaves were gorgeous! The color seems to have started late this year, with there being almost no color in August at all, but it seems to be peaking early (i.e. right now or this week ahead) and among the best I've seen it this decade overall.

Exciting weather today with a very odd temp pattern.
It warmed up significantly after midnight, peaking at 69 (20 c) at 2:20 AM, keep in mind the average low now is 37 (3 c)!
It then cooled down to the low 50s before a rapid morning warmup.
The high was 74 (23 c) at only 8:30 AM.
Then the cold front came through. It was very windy and overcast with temps dropping to the mid 50s. Somehow the max gust was only 41 mph here and 43 mph at Loveland airport, seemed much windier.
There was lots of blowing dust too which was interesting.
At 9 PM, the temp bottomed out at 41 (5 c) but it has slowly risen since.
