It was a very mild afternoon today and with the sunshine we had (first time in quite in some time) the snow started melting.
I love days like these because they're so pleasant but I also hate them because they tease us with something we won't have regularly for several more months. It totally puts me in the mood for early spring weather, which is still about four months away.

22.7° / 31.9° C thus far here, due to the recent second peak. 22.2° / 31.6° C @ Hunters Hill, which reached its max much earlier (11:50 AM); however, an afternoon storm dropped the temp to just 18.0° C around 1:50 PM @ HH, but now 27.3° C (but I was too far north for that rainband, so retained my morning min). Swingy weather today!
Hay broke its record max for Nov with 26.5° / 45.5° C; previous record 44.9° C (records starting 1957). No records broken for HH, however.

Mildura broke their all time record, 45.7C 107km/h gust in the Hay Gays, hopefully it was blown off the map Woomera exceeded their Nov record by 2C! Smithville in NSW recorded 46.9C which is a new Nov state record Sydney CBD hit 40C in November for only the 5th time in 161 years Sydney CBD is forecast to reach 40C again tomorrow, if it happens it'll apparently be only the second back to back 40C there in history Some 47C in northern SA

Getting some unforecasted (for here) rain right now. Heavy rain is forecast for the Gulf as a trough develops before it travels northeastwards early next week.

Rutherglen Research (VIC), in operation since 1912 (!), scored a new record: 42.6° C, beating the previous 41.8° C. Thus far, easily the most significant record broken during this heatwave (being a 100+ year station).

Finally a sunny day today; started out bright overcast with some blue sky by midmorning. Suddenly got overcast around 1 pm and rain hard for 10 minutes, then stopped with some drizzle. Cleared up fast around 2 with deep blue sky and then a colorful sunset.

At 2070 hours, Orly's about to break its annual sunshine record again, after beating it last year (2077 hours). 2018 wasn't bad either for local standards, at 1977 hours. Low geopotential heights will prolly be back next week. About time after the sunniest and one of the driest Novembers ever:

fuckin' hell What is up with that apparent temp formula? In the US, wind chill isn't calculated unless the temperature is 10C or colder.

Mostly clear skies today though I do see some clouds in the distance. Quite dry too...53 F/12 C with a dewpoint of 24 F/-4 C (humidity 32%) just before 3PM. Opened the door for some fresh air. Complete opposite conditions tomorrow with heavy rain.

^ Didn't realize there was a wind threat...was more focused on the possible heavy rain. Should be an exciting storm. Looks like coastal Northern New England will get slammed.
