I know shalop has experienced -40 C before, not sure what type of wind chills he's experienced though. Btw, crazy weather in Saskatoon! I experienced -43C with a 7 mph breeze in Yellowknife, wind chill was in the -50s C. I also experienced -29C with wind gusts of 35mph+ in Chicago, for wind chills around -50 as well. See e.g. www.youtube.com/channel/UCFTr8DtthXY4Sbp8_s94K9gThere's also jetsnhl and edmountain who have likely experienced that stuff too. Anyways, my old residence of Austin TX has a forecast low of 8F (-13c) on Monday! Lots of non-native palms planted there. Gotta wonder if they'll survive or die.

"Warm" rain on the west side of the Antarctic Peninsula. Palmer (64.8°S) had a high of 11.3°C and Vernadsky (65.2°S) had a high of 10.8°C; in both cases the high occurred while raining. San Martín (68.1°S) reported 9.5°C and rain at 18z, an amazing combination for a place beyond the Antarctic circle.

Oops, totally forgot about JetsNHL, obviously he would have very similar experience with extreme cold as I do! In other news, we have a forecast high of -8C at the very end of the forecast! A few weeks back I never would've guessed that I'd be that excited for a high barely above -10C in mid-February, but here we are

We're already under a winter storm watch for a storm that wouldn't hit until Sunday!
They mention wind chills of -25°F (-32°C). The coldest wind chill I've experienced was around -11°F (-24°C) back in January 2018. Also, I haven't seen 8" (20 cm) of snow from a single storm since I was a toddler and too young to remember.

The GFS seems to keep an active pattern going until the end of its run, so we might even have more wintry precipitation chances, but that's obviously too far out to be sure of anything.

High was 18 (-8 c), the coldest of the season, finally beating October 26th.
There was light snow this morning that led to a dusting in yards. It then inexplicably melted by midday, despite being overcast, in the teens f, and still having on and off flurries.
Sunday is now looking like the coldest day. TWC has 5/-9 f, NWS has 5/-11.

Clayton, New Mexico may break its monthly record low max temp for February. NWS is forecasting a high of 2 F (-17 C) on Sunday. The record is currently 1 F, set back in 1989.

Yeah must have sublimated somehow. Also, not applicable when it's cloudy and in the teens ime, but often snow melts fast when it's not thick enough to cover grass blades. The blades will heat up above freezing due to their low albedo and locally melt the snow that is around them, even comfortably below freezing.

Damn cold again in large swathes of Germany: Coldest in France was -16.2°C/3°F in Mulhouse, Alsace. Large parts of the Paris region are looking at their 5th consecutive ice day, which is nice despite lackluster lows. This is not the case in Montsouris or Orly though.
