High today was only 3 (-16 c). I went for a 45 minute walk this morning and it wasn’t as bad as I expected but wearing thin socks and sneakers was definitely not the move as my feet were numb after like 10 minutes.
Today’s high was the 2nd coldest since 1998.
There was some snow throughout the day and there’s a solid inch or two on the ground now. Supposed to get a few inches overnight.
NWS now says -17 (-27 c) for tomorrow night, I’ll be very impressed if that happens.

0.4C now, which is also this month's record high. Yup, first time above freezing so far. 16 consecutive ice days. Nice. We might have 10 consecutive ice days, but it got up to 18°C earlier in the month.

Looks like all the blood is rushing to the dick. Classic penis weather. Ironically, Peniscola is the one part of the state that'll be noticeably chilly.

The effect of a decent snowcover on temps. Snowed at the end of the 2nd day. Paris getting nigh fuck all VS snowy Orleansssssssssssssss. Even shows in the highs: __ Mulhouse in Alsace nicely recovered from the tremendous warm anomoly early this month. Won't stand the test of time ofc and the month will end much above normal:

Mild air coming in. It's 13°C in Ireland but still only 1°C here. Not for long.

Looking more likely that I'll get snow accumulation with models pushing it southeastward. NOAA now showing Alexandria with 70-80% chance of at least an inch. South Louisiana may have the most issues with freezing rain.

McAllen, Texas is under a Winter Storm Warning. Forecast high of 40 F/4 C today, only 35 F/2 C tomorrow. Low of 26 F/-3 C Monday.
Saving grace for the cold weather haters is that it should be back in the 70s F (around 23 C) next weekend.

We have about three inches of snow here in Norman. But it's blowing and drifting a lot, so some spots only have an inch, and others have several inches. Sadly we didn't get quite enough wind for it to count as a blizzard. Visibility was around 1/4 to 1/2 mile (~1/2 km) for much of the storm. It's still snowing a bit, but the heaviest bands have passed us. I'll go measure it in about an hour. I went for a 45-minute walk this afternoon, and the cold was brutal. It was 7°F (-14°C) with a -10°F (-23°C) windchill. I wore two pairs of gloves on my hands to keep warm, but I couldn't wear a scarf or mask without my glasses getting unbearably fogged up, so my face was super cold, especially if I was walking north into the wind.
We have another chance at a couple inches of snow on Tuesday night, but it shouldn't be quite as cold then.

I find it incredible that Corpus Christi at the same latitude as Tampa at near sea level is forecast to have an ice day tomorrow where it won't get above freezing all day (high of 32F). That's just nuts.

I’m still in disbelief at the magnitude of the impending cold wave in the Plains/TX. The landscape, established native and non-native plants, are going to take a severe hit. Add this one to the long list of multi-billion dollar weather disasters in the last 15 years.
Shades of the sudden freeze in Denver in 2014 that killed tens of thousands of trees.

Jesus fuck. I've never seen such a massive expanse of winter storm warnings (pink shade). From the AZ/NM border all the way up to New England, that covers about 2,500 miles (4,000 km)! It looks like about 85-90% of the country has some sort of winter weather/cold weather warning or advisory at the moment.
