Pics from today Probably my favorite overall pic; captures the essence of the wind-driven heavy snow nicely

Lucky you! You get to see to experience wintry conditions thanks to the local geography. Unfortunately there's no close escape from the dreadul winters here. City putting make-believe snowy trees so kids don't forget what they look like: Giorbanguly 's favority city name Friends moved near some U/C stalinian buildings: Wonder when they'll remove this ugly scaffolding from the Eiffel tower. Zoomed in. No more leaves on the canopy. Eh, I guess it's the wintriest this shot will get. Seagulls gathering on the Seine: Cutey street among tower blocks. Nice bike lane there.

Went on another hike Thursday. This one was in the Eagles Nest open space, about 30 minutes north of me. Elevation started at 6100โ, dropped to about 5700โ, then climbed to 6200โ near the end. Whole thing was a 4 mile loop Started with nice views of the foothills There were larger far off peaks too. Could be the snowy range in Wyoming but it seems too far south, idrk what they are < The trail began descending and then turned to look down a valley: Cool cliffs to the left, Iโm pretty sure the first one is Eagleโs Nest Rock: It was tempting to try to climb it, I scrambled partway up a smaller hill to try to get over there but it was really steep with loose rock and slippery snow so I got back on the trail. There were cool prickly pear cactus in the valley The trail then climbed out of the valley and turned back to a bunch of cool buttes to the east that looked very Utah-like The view was basically looking at a big basin to the north and east ringed by buttes The foothills and Eagleโs Nest from the back Pulled off to get a view of the bigger peaks a little up the highway

Very snowless yesterday But a couple millimeters fell during the night. About twice as thick in the western part of town where my grandparents live. None in the center. This is the street where I grew up. Swedes don't put up that much christmas stuff outside their houses. This is the closest we've had to a sunny day since Dec 1st. Shot taken at 13:54, 6 minutes past sunset. Rhododendron don't seem to be quite winter-dormant yet

Hi everyone and Merry Xmas! I've continued to postpone the pictures of the first snowfall we had this year for too long already, it's time to share them (yes, I'm back to the small village on the Italian side of the Alps) The pictures were taken on Dec 4th in the few villages around my place.

Got a few mm of snow overnight, just so that the ground looks white. Took these pictures today Dec 25th near the fjord. A weak sun shining on the mountains across the fjord. Down to the right a lot of ducks on the water.

I drove 15 minutes today Christmas Eve, and found the snow at our city hill, 500 m / 1600 ft ASL. Merry Christmas! looks nice and fresh, too. stuck to the trees nicely. ================ planned on doing a long hike last Sunday but my hip muscles were sore from the day before so decided to rest. Mid afternoon felt better, was going to drive to a park on a hilltop preserve but started snowing hard and the rural roads are steep and winding; didn't want to risk bad road conditions if the snow accumulated. Checked out a park in town just a mile from home that I hadn't been to. Nice and relaxing, cozy with the light snow

Hike: Bibbulmun Track (Kalamunda to Mundaring Weir, ~16km). Two hiking photos from today, looking down to Mundaring Weir. I've done this hike before so didn't take any pics really. Rolling hills: Also a photo of a storm and resultant dust-storm near my worksite on December 19th. We got light rain, lots of humidity and some brief dust-storms but the proper cells passed by us.
