Some really nice shots there knot , seems like you had a nice trip! How come most trees are bare in most of the areas? The first two spoilers look like photo albums taken in the middle of a subtropical winter. Btw, while I like that you're uploading many pictures, and that you're enthusiastic about photography, some shots were pretty redundant. You don't need to include multiple images of the same motif if they're taken just a few meters or seconds/minutes apart (unless something markedly commentworthy happens inbetwetwen the shots, like for example an eagle soaring into view, or a sudden rain shower or something like that). Having fewer redundant images makes the photo viewing experience a lot nicer, and allows the viewers to spend more time looking at each photo Eucalypts go bare after suffering bushfire damage—in this case, the Jan 2020 Dunns Road Fire. However, as can plainly be seen, recovery is well underway in much of the area (that rather "ivy bush" growth you see on most of the bare eucalypts). I've just finished cleaning my album a little…a few tweaks here and there. Defo notice an improved flow 👍🏻

The results of yesterday's class 2 warning blizzard. There's another class 2 warning blizzard tonight. I'm very lucky my balcony door opens inward, because I found out yesterday that tenants have an obligation to shovel their balconies. wow didn't realize you could get heavy snowfalls. you have radiators like us, too. thought homes there generally had electric baseboard heaters

We actually bought garbage from Norway because we ran out. Most homes have more modern radiator designs though, but my apartment is 70 years old. And yeah no this isn't normal, it's record breaking.

Judging from my instagram feed, it seems like Tavelsjö has about 5 feet of snow.

some photos from late December back when I was in Massachusetts. Drove over the Berkshires for an errand and made a few stops almost sunset on my old street tower overlooking town. you can tell it's after Christmas as the snow is all gone from the heavy rain

I climbed up Deer Mountain today in Rocky Mountain NP. Distance: 6.2 miles Trailhead elevation: 8,930’ Summit elevation: 10,013’ Temp was in the 30s most of the time. As soon as we entered the park it started snowing heavily and there was blowing snow all over the road. Fortunately it cleared up as we got to the trailhead, although there were still light flurries most of the hike. Sun came out at the start of the hike: < Looking up at the summit Bigger peaks are still shrouded by snow The trail then wound its way upward through an open forest for awhile. I know I always complain about forest but these pine forests with snow and peaks peaking through have been quite nice. The summit views were nice, but only in one direction due to snow and trees. It was windy and chilly on the exposed summit so I quickly gulped down a beer and then it was time to descend. I heard some cool bird screeching on the way down—my friend thought it was an eagle. We stopped to look for like 10 minutes but never saw it. The clouds gradually lifted on the way down, eventually exposing some big peaks Near the park exit, we saw 7 bull elk on the side of the road >

SteelernationInteresting diversity in snow cover, that's not all that dependent on the altitude. Seems the snow fall is very showery and localized compared to most places around the world where there's always a pretty clear snow line on mountains and hills.

Only 4'11" and some left to reach Tavelsjö's accumulation.

Some road side pictures from yesterday. I went hiking at a preserve I had never been to and will post those later.

I doubt the Sierra in California would be. Looks nice but way too snowless

Babu mostly it depends on if the area is exposed or not. The forest had more snow cover but the exposed areas were mostly bare due to strong winds sweeping away the snow. This was about 9800’ in the forest nei I don’t think it’s normal. November-January haven’t gotten much snow. For exposed, wind prone areas it might not be that uncommon but definitely less snow than usual.

An overlook in a place called Halls Gap. Unfortunately the view is hindered by trees and the trash people throw there

Wind is picking up, temp is going down. People who actually get cold fronts, may this be a cold front? Probably not nearly as strong as those in the Midwest and South though.

Hey, Mr. Adithya Ramachandran. Yes, I will say your name publicly because you have chosen to be an utter fuckwit and constantly ignored the guidance of moderators NOT to link your google account when posting pictures.
