For my area, a few come to mind. I will use metric units here for all the Americans.
San Diego hottest temperature in 1902 was in January San Diego August storm from Alaska (usually the source for winter rains) 1906 San Diego tsunami December 1958 freak heat wave (36 here, 28 in Idyllwild, a mile-high pine-filled mountain town like an hour away) 1979 Palm Springs snowfall Freak Late May 2019 snowfall in Idyllwild August 2015 tornado in the nearby city of Mecca (actually called that) August 1968 -3 in Idyllwild January 1971 -16 in Idyllwild August 1983 Riverside High 23 Low 21 2020/3/12 Extremely high rain amount for here with a heavy thunderstorm (around 3 cm)

05 Jul 1900 Snowstorm (Western NSW)That trumps any other weather event in Australian history (as far as I know). Possibly the only time in history where the western slopes and plains received heavier snowfall than the alps themselves; e.g. Kiandra only got two feet, whereas Blayney got three feet.

December 2010 sticks out for me.. during my lifetime our winters tend to be very mild and I just can't imagine something like that happening now. Consistent cold and heavy snow.. we used to get some events when I was younger where there's be snow for a few days a couple of times each winter maybe but most years now that doesn't happen at all

March 2013 as well as December 2010. March 2013 was about 5°C colder than average with a howling easterly wind and regular snow, with temperatures not getting above freezing many days in the final week. I still throw up a bit in my mouth just thinking about it.

The extreme cold months we used to get.
January 1930 averaged 22/-4 which was a -22.1 f anomaly. It had 18 straight >20 f below average days and had a day with a -50 f anomaly.
January 1937 had a -19.5 f anomaly and the warmest temp of 43 f is colder than the average high.
The most impressive of all is probably February 1899. It averaged 26/-6, which was a -23.5 f anomaly. The first 8 days were >34 f below average and the 11th was 51 f below average. And to top it off, it featured a 75 f diurnal range on the 12th.
Sadly, these kind of epic months are impossible nowadays, the closest semi-recent month was February 1989 which was only a -12.1 f deviation.

The four coldest spring days and the four warmest winter days all coming within 12 months of one another in 2018-19.
Any cold record being broken is a special event now but the February 2019 warm spell was off the charts for the time of year compared to anything else we've ever seen, an entire week averaged above the previous record of 14.7C.
4 coldest spring days on record (since 1973)
(-3.9C, 28 February 2018) 1. -2.3C, 1 March 2018 2. -1.7C, 2 March 2018 3. -1.6C, 3 March 2018 4. -1.4C, 18 March 2018
4 warmest winter days on record
1. 18.5C, 26 February 2019 2. 16.7C, 23 February 2019 3. 16.5C, 25 February 2019 4. 15.9C, 22 February 2019

Weird it snowed two months earlier... It didn't. That day was 15c/5c, making it physically impossible at standard pressure. It snowed in Buxton.

The June 1947 snowfall.
0.5” (1 cm) of snow fell on June 12th. The next latest snow? May 28th of the same year.
That’s the latest snowfall on record by 2 weeks and barely over a week before the summer solstice.

Likewise the storm that dropped 192 mm over central Paris in May 1992 is up there on the list of freak Parisian events. Same decade, the December 1999 storm with its 176 km/h peak winds deserves a mention. Way back in time, December 1879 and its -2.6/-10.5°C averages is definitely a shocker, the month being 12°C/22°F below the current averages.

That autumn had not one, but two Indian summers. My grandparents were lucky!

It hit 20C in Reading, and felt like a mild December day in North Carolina (due to the lower sun angle). It was weird how little it seemed to warm up between February and May that year, but I think that's just me being used to more distinct seasons.

*48C on Jan 4 2020. It was like walking inside an oven outside. Plus, many of plants' leaves burned out. Which was frustrating. *A freak passing thunderstorm on the night of Feb 18 2020 that had nonstop lightning, heavy winds and thunder, blacking out my home for a few seconds. As it was happening, I could tell that someone would die from it and it turned out a man got killed by a flying gas cylinder.
