Toronto is known for some seasonal lag, but never to this extent... We saw 2cm of snow on May 11, 2020, in a cold snap of >10C below seasonal from May 8-12
It was 24C with humidex of 27C on November 10, 2020, in a heat wave of >10C above seasonal from Nov 4-11

Had light sleet here the day before Easter of 2007 (April 7). Some areas reported light snow mixed in and had minor accumulation! Temps were above freezing with the event.

November 1880 was absolutely insane.
No data here unfortunately but Denver averaged 34/10 f (1/-12 c), thatβs a -16.3 f anomaly and would be far below average for a winter month.
The 17th alone was 44.0 f below average at -1/-14 f (-18/-26 c).
But get this, hereβs the most amazing part:
It was the coldest November ever by a stunning 6.9 f (3.8 c).
Thatβs 2 whole f more than the entire deviation from average for the hottest July and this is just the gap between 1st and 2nd coldest.
Epic ass month!

18th-21st of July, 2013. In a place with winters so stable that they rarely venture 4C from the average, this is definitely a wtf event.
18/7: 11.3C/21.3C 19/7: 12.7C/15.7C 20/7: 5.2C/8.4C 21/7: 3.9C/9.9C
Since we seem to be capable of this, I wouldn't mind seeing something like this every winter just to make things more exciting.

The 1908 heatwave is insane. I would love to experience something like that, although in 2014 we had 4 days in a row over 42C. The 1939 one is something that people would typically associate with Melbourne in summer.

The March 2012 heatwave. In Moncton the normal high for March is 2.7C (36.9F). On March 22 the temperature went up to 26.1C (79.0F). That's almost a 25C degrees difference!

A few more for the UK. September 1906 heatwave. 1st: 35.0c (London) 2nd: 35.6c (Bawtry) 3rd: 34.2c (Bury St Edmunds) London also recorded 33.4c in September 1911 yet that was not matched until September 2016, with 34.4c at Gravesend and 32.8c at Heathrow (a September record for Heathrow). The Lincolnshire heat burst in July 2019, where temps went from 22c to 32c and back to 22c within 20 minutes (between 2200 and 2220).

Ironically, 1975 turned out to be a very warm summer. June and July were pretty normal temperature-wise, it was mostly August which was hot. All 3 summer months were sunny though, especially June. Heathrow stats, av max/av min, precip, sun. Jun: 21.8c/10.4c, 23.2mm, 293.7 hrs Jul: 24.1c/14.1c, 36.3mm, 217.3 hrs Aug: 25.9c/15.0c, 13.3mm, 226.0 hrs Temperature-wise, not too different to summer 2020 here. Sunshine and precipitation was a world away though!

The most WTF event here is obviously the snow event of January 19, 1977. www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/article55396310.htmlOther WTF events: This stretch in February 1917. Lots of missing data, but huge diurnals (by our standards) look at the 69/28, 74/37, etc days. I'm thinking it's probably thermometers that were left overly exposed to the sun, but either way an impressive stretch of cold mornings here (looks like consistent 20s / 30s / low 40s). 52/31 (11.1/-0.6) day on March 3, 1980. This would be remarkably cold even in the middle of January, let alone early March. Easily the coldest March day on record (and our only freeze ever recorded in that month). 39 F (3.8 C) low in April 1950. It's hard for it to get this cold even in January, so it's very impressive for us to get this chilly in April. Record highest daily rainfall is 14.59" (371 mm) on April 25, 1979. April is one of the driest months here and has the least amount of rainy days on average, so it's weird to have the record at that time of year. 32.10" (815 mm) of rain in October 1924 and just three years earlier October 1921 recorded 31.70" (805 mm) of rain. No other months have come even close to this in terms of rainfall. This isn't so "WTF" I guess because October is an active month for tropical systems down here, but still a tremendous amount of rainfall. March 1915 and 1916 both had average lows of 51.3 F and 51.5 F (10.2 and 10.3 C respectively). No other March goes below 55 F (12.8 C) as an average low, so this is impressive and the fact two years in a row had record cold Marches is kind of interesting too. This past April (2020) with an average high of 90.6 F (32.6 C) and a mean of 82.2 F (27.9 C). No other April comes even close to being this hot, and in fact, it's also hotter than any May on record. Truly a stupendous month. There's probably more, but I'm too lazy atm to look it up.

Got to 82'F (28'C) here and I believe it tied the monthly record high @b87 that 2019 heat burst is crazy stuff! I'd love to experience one of those someday; I'm jealous!

Having a 40 day stretch between measurable rainfalls in 2019, a year that as a whole ended up being 10.87β above normal in spite of that.
It was also strange to get 3 days above 95Β°F in October 2019, but nothing above 93Β°F in all of 2020.

Locally in York, the -17C at Linton on Ouse in 2010. The 21.1C low at Linton in July 2019, 22-23C lows were recorded at unofficial sites in York itself. By far the warmest and most uncomfortable night I've ever experienced in the UK. Thunderstorm in July 2018 where we had golf ball sized hail.
