.SYNOPSIS...
A strong cold front will approach from the west this morning and cross later this afternoon and evening. High pressure will build in from the west tonight through the middle of next week.
&&
.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TODAY/...
As of 8:25 AM Sat...High pressure continues to the southeast with a cold front to the west. Will be mostly sunny and warm through midday ahead of the front with highs into the lower 90s inland. The front will reach deep inland areas mid to late aftn and quickly push E toward the area by 18Z. A broken band of shra and a few tstorms expected with the front and ramp PoPs up to high chance or likely inland late today. Will likely be a few hrs of gusty NW winds directly behind the front.

.SHORT TERM /TONIGHT/...
As of 8:25 AM Sat...The strong front will quickly sweep by by mid evening with sct to numerous showrs and iso. tstorms coast quickly ending. Strong CAA will ensue behind the front
with clearing skies overnight and lows reaching lower 50s deep inland to mid/upr 50s closer to the coast. NW winds will be gusty thru the night near the coast.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
As of 8:45 AM Fri...Cool high pressure will build over the area Sunday through the middle of next week. A front will approach the area late in the week.
Sunday through Monday night...A cold front will push well offshore early Sunday with high pressure building in from the west. Meanwhile, the upper trough axis will slide offshore Sunday with NW flow developing aloft bringing downslope flow and a very dry airmass with PW values dropping to around 1/3", clear skies and Tds dropping to the 30s/lower 40s. Temps will be 5-10 degrees below normal with highs generally in the lower to mid 70s Sunday and mid 70s Monday. Lows will be the coolest of the season yet with mid to upper 40s inland to lower 50s along the coast.
Tuesday through Friday...Weak ridging builds across the region through the middle of the week with sfc high pressure sliding east. Dry conditions will continue but will see gradually moderating airmass with temps warming to near or slightly above temps. A front approaches the area Friday and could see a few showers develop on Friday but moisture appears limited at this time and will limit PoPs to slight chance to low end chance.  |
