15-day forecast for Winter Haven
Synopsis: It will start off cold, with a brutal but short cold snap around March 15-17th, then temperatures will moderate significantly and towards the end of the forecast period it will be significantly warmer than average, and even warmer past the forecast period (beyond the 26th). First above 0 F temps in four months will occur and it will be with a bang. The warm weather will be accompanied by clear skies and very, very low humidity, so the diurnal ranges will be quite high. When the ridge of high pressure that comes from the south tries to overtake the cold air that's been locked in the region, there will be quite a bit of instability, starting off as snowy and ending up with rain and thunderstorms, possibly some that will be severe. Will clear out after the unstable period and that's when the warmth settles in.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monday (3/12): Colder than average with clear skies, ice fog developing in the late night and early morning hours. Winds will be calm. High: -13 Low: -39
Tuesday (3/13): Morning starting off clear and calm with fog, with clouds moving in in the afternoon ahead of a strong cold front along with some snow squalls and a strong SW wind. Temps will be warmer out ahead of the front before it takes a tumble after the front pushes through. Winds will be out of the SW at 30-45 mph, shifting to NW at 25-35 mph in the late night hours. Snow will be 5-7", with higher accumulations is strong snow squalls. High: -2 Low: -42
Wednesday (3/14): Much colder with clearing skies and winds calming down. Ice fog taking hold in the late afternoon hours and overnight. Winds calming from 25-35 mph early in the day to completely calm in the afternoon and night hours. High: -36 Low: -60
Thursday (3/15): Extremely cold with ice fog taking a hold all day, clear skies and calm winds. High: -48 Low: -70
Friday (3/16): Extremely cold with ice fog, clear skies and calm winds. High: -47 Low: -70
Saturday (3/17): Extremely cold with ice fog, clear skies and calm winds. High: -47 Low: -70
Sunday (3/18): Starting off very cold with ice fog, getting much warmer in the afternoon with clouds and snow showers moving in, temperature holding steady after the afternoon hours and a wind out of the SE will start. Winds will be 10-20 mph and snow will accumulate 1-3". High: -12 Low: -18
Monday (3/19): Warmer with seasonable temps, with clouds and snow showers hanging around all day. Winds shifting from SE to S in the later morning hours. First above 0 F temps in four months. Winds will be at 15-25 mph from the S and snow will accumulate 5-9". High: 11 Low: 0
Tuesday (3/20): Seasonable temps with clouds and snow showers, with a strong southerly wind blowing. Winds will be from the S at 25-40 mph, with some gusts over 55 mph. Snow will accumulate 5-9" once again. High: 16 Low: 7
Wednesday (3/21): Windy and cloudy, with sharply warming temperatures after the morning hours. Day will start off with snow, transition to a mix of rain, snow showers and ice pellets (sleet). Temperatures will hold steady over night. Snow accumulation will be 3-5", sleet and ice accumulation will be 0.1"-0.2". Winds will blow out of the south at 25-40 mph, with significant wind gusts. High: 34 Low: 30
Thursday (3/22): Morning starting off with a wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, sleet, and rain, before transition to all rain in the later morning hours. As warmer air draws closer, that will cause significant instability which will cause for strong thunderstorms to develop in the late afternoon and overnight hours. Winds will blow out of the south at 20-40 mph, with significant wind gusts, especially during thunderstorms. Snow and sleet accumulation 1-2" in the morning, rainfall accumulation from afternoon and overnight will be near an inch. Significant flooding will occur due to very high snow cover and thawing temperatures. High: 47 Low: 39
Friday (3/23): Morning starting off with severe thunderstorms, rain and wind, before the high pressure approaching from the southwest really takes hold in the region. Which will clear out skies, bring much drier air along with it with strong sunshine in the afternoon. Due to very low humidity, the temperature will plummet after sundown. Flooding will occur especially in low lying area due to thawing temps and lots of snow cover. High: 50 Low: 3
Saturday (3/24): Sunny, calm and very dry with much above normal temperatures. Temperatures will drop fast after sunset. Flooding will take place in low lying spots. High: 53 Low: 6
Sunday (3/25): Even milder with sunny, calm and very dry conditions. Once again, the low humidity will allow temperatures to plummet after sundown. Flooding will take place in low lying spots due to high snow cover and thawing temperatures. High: 57 Low: 8
Monday (3/26): Warm, sunny, and very dry with calm winds. Some flooding occurring in low lying spots. High: 60 Low: 12
Averages on 3/12 are 9/-13 and on 3/26 they're 21/-1.

Record warmth predicted for St. Patrick's Day, perfect for going out at night and getting drunk af. Otherwise a typical March forecast temperature-wise, although abnormally rainy and cloudy. Aside from the heat spike, temperatures are to stay within +/-3C of the average, a pattern typical of the Jacarandopolis cold season. However as the calendar progresses, the temperature swings will get wilder and wilder, and the 30C day on March 16th is a sign of the summer instability that is soon to come
