Cold snap to start the week with a gross chilly rain (albeit light) falling for much of the day on Tuesday. First freeze of the season forecast Wednesday night before temperatures quickly rebound under sunny skies

2nd wettest August on record, behind 1955 Do you have daily data for those early months? I don't put a great deal of effort into making data for all months, though here's August 1955: That was preceded by a hotter and drier than normal July, which saw a heatwave late in the month due to persistent ridging and anomalously low soil moisture for the past weeks at the time:

Interesting how that record wet august wasn’t really a wet month, just a couple days with very heavy precipitation. Iirc, those precipitation days are average. Probably wouldn’t have felt wet to me. Also I’m surprised at how stable the summer lows are, would’ve expected more 80 f lows. Obviously a sample size of 2, but surprised there were no 105/85 type days.

Is there a website you use for this, or do you just use a spreadsheet program? Just copy/pasting NOWData monthly summary format into an Excel spreadsheet, and then filling in values

Synopsis: Rather stable temperatures for most of the week with scattered to numerous thunderstorms tomorrow thanks to a pulse of subtropical moisture. Shot of cold to start the weekend though that will be short lived.
