Summary: Two words: Hot and Stormy! Due to a combination of deep tropical moisture and persistent hot SW winds, the combination of very hot plus extremely wet was able to happen (this pattern persisted into July as well). The main thing that kept June from being extremely hot was the rather benign first few days of June.

Nothing remarkable in July with temperatures being almost bang on average. Sunshine hours were a little below average and it was on the wet side with rainfall being about an inch above average.
