This is the second in a series of average-Wisconsinite-layperson-spoofing climates I've made this evening. This one would be the ideal climate of the average person around here who doesn't know anything about weather: it's a cool desert climate with cool temperatures most of the year and a sunshine total beating that of Yuma. Here are some of its features explained: - Winters are cool, can't have them be too cold, but at the same time it's winter so most of the precipitation should be snow
- Summers are cooler than London or Motueka, representing people's pathetic heat tolerance; 70s and sunny = nice
- Very low humidity; any month of the year would be bad for a chronic nosebleed sufferer like myself
- That weird December that doesn't seem to fit: I'M dReAmInG oF a WhItE ChRiStMaS!
- Sun = good. Clouds and precipitation = bad. Some years contain stretches of 80 or more consecutive sunny, rainless days.
- Gotta have cool to cold nights year-round, even in summer because lows over about 17'C magically prevent people from sleeping even with AC.
- If you don't rate this an A, you're objectively wrong and a bad person.
Out of character, for me this is an obvious F. Not only does it qualify for an automatic F due to its all-time record low being below 90'F, but the incessant sunshine and lack of precipitation would drive me nuts in short order, as would the absurdly stable temperatures that barely get to room temperature on average in summer. I'd be willing to bet this would get at least 60% A's and B's around here though. For the perception of Wisconsin's climate, see here.

C. Get rid of that December and give it 500mm of rain, mostly in winter, and it could be a B.

An F from me.
This would be a Lommaren-type of a climate, which kisses your ass with the sunshine, lack of precipitation and mildness, until you realize how boring it would be.

Probably a C. Summer is nice, but I doubt you see much snow at all if your lows are above freezing. Thatβs a lot like Atlanta which sees like 2β of snow at best.

E--------. The only thing that save it from a straight up F is that winters actually get snow.

D. Pleasant but boring.
The winters seem wrong though. Most people I know either want warm San Diego type winters or 4 seasons type winters. I donβt know anyone who wants a chilly, nearly snowless winter like that and Iβd imagine New Yorkers and Wisconsinites have similar tastes.

Well, the people who like "4-seasons" (continental) winters are typically no more cold-tolerant than anyone else; they'll still be complaining when it gets below about -5'C. "I like fall" or "I like 4 seasons" around here = 68/50 and sunny every day.

Here are some of its features explained: - Winters are cool, can't have them be too cold, but at the same time it's winter so most of the precipitation should be snow. Sure, more people like snow than cold rain. But what about the people who hate when it snows ?
- Summers are cooler than London or Motueka, representing people's pathetic heat tolerance; 70s and sunny = nice. 70s and sunny IS nice. That is comfortable to almost everybody. Never getting warmer than 70s is boring and wouldn't feel like summer.
- Very low humidity; any month of the year would be bad for a chronic nosebleed sufferer like myself. 70, sunny, low humidity = PERFECT, you have to like it because it's perfect, nothing could possibly be better.
- That weird December that doesn't seem to fit: I'M dReAmInG oF a WhItE ChRiStMaS! Christmas is the time even winter haters are OK with snow. Makes sense to me
- Sun = good. Clouds and precipitation = bad. Some years contain stretches of 80 or more consecutive sunny, rainless days.
- Gotta have cool to cold nights year-round, even in summer because lows over about 17'C magically prevent people from sleeping even with AC. Yeah I think I'll need a big AC to survive those hot summers. My husky likes it cold inside (reference to Tenderfrost)
- If you don't rate this an A, you're objectively wrong and a bad person.

I'll rate some mild climates a B, but not this one. Boring dry and sunny except for those snowy days just in time for Christmas. I rated it a D.

Summers extremely boring (but at least summery i.e. not washed out), but that December looks beautiful.
Also, nice thread idea and not particularly stupid at all, IMO ππ»

Grade C. Except for that December, basically coastal northern California type with an amplified diurnal range adding all dryness.

I would give that a C-. Presumably it gets a thunderstorm in summer at least once a month. Summers better than Sheffield, sunshine is nice but overly excessive here. The lack of much interesting weather possibilities keeps the grade low-average.
