Is this the warmest ever overnight low recorded in Susa? It sounds quite extreme to get 28°C as a low in an Alpine valley, especially knowing the averages are just above the mid-teens in summer. So that Susa is quite prone to this kind of weird warm winds, I can't exclude that something of analogous already happened in the past. Looking at my excel sheet, there was a low of 26.6°C in August 1998, 26.5°C in August 2003, 25.1°C in June 2012, 25.5°C in August 2017. Also, daily temps are reported from midnight to midnight in that site, so probably this evening temp will bring the final value for the daily low in the tables to something lower than last night reading.

There's a station in Southern France showing a high of 46.1C. I'm not sure of it's official or not however.

The last day that was colder than normal in Anchorage was May 30th, a full month and counting of above-normal days. Also, the last month to be colder than "average" was February. February 2018. So it's not completely unexpected for Anchorage to have record heat this week.

From omegaraptor: Peter Sinks, Utah may have broken the record for coldest October temperature in the contintental US. -34.7F/-37.1C this morning the 28th. Peter Sinks is not inhabited but it has ideal geography to record incredibly cold temperatures at the bottom. The bottom is so cold that trees can't grow, so this is one of the rare places where you can reach a treeline by going down in elevation. It stayed above 0F/-18C overnight at the top of the "sink" which is not far away. This is all from a twitter post:

Low of 32F this morming isn’t a record but it is the first October freeze since 1971. Impressive!

Cabramurra did not rise above 2.8° C from 9:00-9:00 AM (December 2nd-3rd), thus beating the 2.9° C record cold maximum held at the old SMHEA station in December 1969.
Thredbo Top Station did not rise above –1.1° C, thereby throttling its previous 0.1° C record.

Seems Kvisker, Iceland, recorded 19.7C on the night before Dec 3th. More then 1C warmer than the previous Dec heat record of Iceland (18.4C). Also the warmest Dec temperature ever recorded in the Nordics, and warmer than the UK Dec record.
