Jwankuary 2021 Scummary.
Well what a shithouse month that was. 60% wetter than average, again, and even colder temperatures to compliment this bucket of diarrhea of a month. Only one 1cm+ snow event so hardly good from a cold/snow lover's POV either. Just endless cold rain, with more flooding misery for people as well in the middle of this virus pandemic. I posted my Jwankuary summary and that of Buxton below, at least to make myself feel better that I don't live there any more.
Features of Jwankuary 2021:
Coldest January since 2010 Bugger all lying snow despite being well below average Obviously well below normal sunshine hours Abysmally small diurnal range to add to the tedium Endless shitty cold rain - it was the wettest (60% wetter than average) January ever to have an avg. temperature as low as this one, going back to 1883 when records began It was booooooooooring - I mean really boooooooooooring.
Daily Data:
Month Data:
Buxton's Data:
Here's looking forward to the mildest, driest and sunniest February on record!!!

January averages (1991-2020)
Mean maximum: 40.8°C | Average high: 27.5°C | Daily mean: 21.2°C | Average low: 14.8°C | Mean minimum: 9.5°C
Average precipitation: 37.4mm | Average precipitation days (>0.2mm): 7.4 | Average relative humidity: 65% | Mean monthly sunshine hours: 272.8
January 2021 was cooler, wetter and cloudier than average, being influenced by La Nina. Almost half of the month's precipitation fell in the 24 hours before 9am on the 30th, when some Greater Melbourne locations experienced their wettest 24 hour period in January on record. Overnight minimum temperatures were generally close to average, but maximums were significantly below average across the Melbourne region.
Overall the weather last month was quite pleasant and close to my ideal climate's January. It could have been improved by more thunderstorm events, a few nights below 10°C and more stable/consistent maximum temperatures.

Not sure if there is a way to check it, but this January truly has to have one of the widest temperature ranges ever recorded in Seoul. Came within 0.5c of breaking the all time January record, but also recorded the coldest temps in like 36 years. Also recorded quite a bit of snow

Very shitty January, being very cold, probably record "wet", close to record breaking snow depth, and below average sunshine as well. Literally the only slightest salvation is the record low was average. Precipitation is purely guesswork as most of the days have missing data so far. All mainland stations nearby with complete data are at 170-185mm for the month, and Holmön island off the coast has 118mm. The record is 128mm for Umeå, so it might've been shattered. Temperature vs 1991-2020 (2011-2020)Average high: -3.2'C (-2.7'C) Average low: -3.0'C (-2.6'C) Average mean: -3.0'C (-2.6'C) Precipitation vs 1991-2020: 285%-ish. Very hard to say since I don't have accurate data. On SMHI's deviation map, Umeå is around the border for 200/250% though. Sunshine vs 2002-2018 (no 1991-2020 figures yet): 90% Just throw this January in the garbage. Definitely the worst I've experienced in my life. I've experienced four Januaries that have been colder, but they've been drier and sunnier. This January has been a nightmare I didn't even think was possible since normally cold winter months are drier and sunnier, and only the mild ones get wet and cloudy. -10'C temps are pretty uncommon during overcast skies, but this month we've had overcast -16'C temps, possibly even more than that. Absolutely insane.

Not much to say about this January, except that the first half of the month was remarkably consistent – no highs above 60°F were observed from the 3rd to 15th, or below 45°F until the 28th, or that a few snowflakes fell on the morning of the 28th, albeit without accumulation. In addition, this January has seen the greatest number of days with over 0.04" of rain, tied with 1980. Average high: –1.1°F Mean: –0.4°F Average low: +0.2°F Precipitation: 113% of normal

Speagles84 January 2021 Summary - Washington County PA Overall, pretty stable. Lows were considerably above average, highs were slightly below average. Snowfall was a little above average, but rainfall was below due to lack of any warmth. Usually see at least one day hit 50F in January, but best we did this month was 46 and that was early in the month. Snow depth was consistent the entire month, with drifts and piles remaining from our first snows in early December through the first half of the month with 2"+ each day since January 15.
