Got to 53 (12 c) today. Still solidly below average but warmer than itโs been.
Before today, 9/11 days didnโt exceed 42 (6 c)! The average highs for that time are ~17 c.
Thatโs actually tied for the 2nd most such highs in April. Extremely bipolar month with record warmth the first week and record cold recently.

Temperatures are falling. Sunny in the morning, light rain in the afternoon. High has been 11.7C in Riga.
Isn't spring fun at these latitudes?
Maybe that's what they call snow in the tropical Florida, but for us it is just sleet at worst.

Fingers crossed that we are done now though.

Despite the pretty miserable start, this month has turned out to be really nice. Only 2mm of rain, and stations across northern England are reporting 120-140% of the average sunshine. It's nice to see a bone-dry ground again.

I think I'd take a cold but sunny/dry month like this over a warmer but duller/wetter one though. This month has reminded me how much I enjoy sunshine, even if it's not particularly warm.

Back to spring/fall today with 60s. Summer next week with likely 80 . Yesterday was almost wintry, 50/37 but felt a lot colder with drizzle, clouds, and wind. Looks like I'm in store for a warm May pattern!

Queensland becomes the focus of unseasonable cold ( Source: weatherzone ) Much of southeastern Australia has been experiencing night-time temperatures 6-12 degrees below average. The most extreme last night was in southern Queensland. It was the coldest night this early in the season in 25 years for Oakey (0.2-degree minimum, 11 below average) and Warwick (1.0 degrees, 10 below average), 22 years for Gatton (6.1 degrees, 8 below average) and 15 years for Miles (2.7 degrees). It was also pretty nippy just south of the border where Ballina recorded a 20-year low for this early in the year, 8.2 degrees. Clear skies contributing to the chilly nights are at least allowing days to warm up and become comfortable fairly quickly, warming above average in most places. In contrast to the clear skies and chily nights in the south of the state, late-season cloud and rain in the north have led to unseasonably cold days. It has been the coldest this early in the year in 42 years for Townsville (22.4-degree maximum on Friday), 22 years for Ayr (22.4 degrees on Friday) and 13 years for Mackay (23.1 degrees on Friday). Temperatures at about sunrise on Saturday 24 April overlaying satellte image and GFS synoptic pressure pattern. The feel of the chill had been working its way north from southeastern Australia since early this week. On Wednesday areas of South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales had not been frostier this early in the season in decades. It got as cold as -7.4 degrees, in Tasmania's Liawanee. Also in Tassie, Butlers Gorge recorded a 58-year low for this early in the year, chilling to -4.7 degrees. Friday was a standout cold morning for Sydney (9.2 degrees) and Brisbane (11.6 degrees), the coldest it has been this early since 1983 and 2006 respectively. The culprit for the brisk nights and mornings has been dry winds in the wake of a cold front combining with clear skies. Looking ahead, we can expect most of southeastern Australia to gradually warm as winds turn from dry southwesterly to more humid easterly and causing some cloud to develop. However, we have a bit more chill to get through first. Canberra is facing a chilly Saturday night and frosty Sunday morning, potentially as cold as about -2 degrees by sunrise. This morning's -2.7 degrees in Canberra is 10 degrees below average and a 15-year low for this early in the year.

Very warm overnight last night, didn't drop below 74 F (23.3 C) and as of noon it's 83 F (28.3 C) with a 70 F (21.1 C) dew point, breezy as well with a 16 mph SE breeze gusting to 25 mph.....headed up to 86 F (30 C) with a slight chance of showers today.
Have 90 F (32.2 C) in the forecast tomorrow, TWC has 93 F (33.9 C), we'll see how hot it gets. Last "heat wave" was a fizzer.

FFS, this constant ultra low humidity is really getting old. 6C with a -16C dew point this afternoon My hands are dry as hell everyday and we're also getting some seriously cold nights, with yesterday having a low of -15C, the coldest of the month. And of course it's mostly sunshine in the forecast with no significant precipitation while we sit at a total of 3.5mm of precipitation for the month and 15mm for the year. Is it really too much to ask for a few 5 to 10 mm rain days to help moisten things up a bit? Come on, nature...

Most useless weather on Earthโฆcracked skin, no benefit to grass, and overall a very unpleasant feel.

Jakarta is slowly transitioning into dry season with more frequent sub-22ยฐC dew points. Only 4mm rain at Jakarta airport the last 10 days...
Bandung airport (740m) just recorded their 6th sub-19ยฐC low in a row with trace precipitation over the last 5 days. Also 14ยฐC dew point readings there on the 21st and 22nd

And it lasts forever out here, like 6 to 8 months a year of desert-levels of humidity... which I guess is expected, since we do live in a cold fucken desert, but still. As much as I disliked the frequent cold rain when I lived in Vancouver, at least we had some proper moisture through most of the year. We hit a low of -15C a couple days ago, two days after hitting a high of almost 19C. The second half of April has actually been a fair bit colder than the first for us, and nights have been well below freezing this past week.

Weather in the past week has been absolutely incredible, daily highs move back and forth quite stable between 16~19ยฐC. This is what I call a textbook spring temperature experience. I spent extended time at a giant space of park in my neighborhood a couple of days ago and felt super pleasant, no complaint at all. Meanwhile, April mean temperatures haven't climbed up much compared to the last month, only 0.3ยฐC warmer than the last month so far after 25 days @ Torcy weather station.

Got to 77 (25 c) today, very warm.
First 70f and first above average high since the 10th.
Thereโs a few rare trees starting to flower and a couple of small ones leafed out but otherwise it looks the same as it did 3 weeks ago and still quite barren and wintry.
