...and we got fucked again on the rain. The very rainy weekend we were supposed to have next week (according to The Weather Network) got downgraded from 15+ mm per day to just 2mm over the weekend and 5mm on Monday. Better than nothing (if it even happens) but totally lacklustre. I'm not even gonna bother getting my hopes up for real rain at this point, I'll just accept that we're in full desert mode this year and if the pattern changes and it actually rains then it'll be a pleasant surprise. My dry hands and lips are definitely not happy about this

This warmth is getting ridiculous. 13° / 18° C (!) yesterday, with much the same on the day before. And no real cold on the horizon—"coldest" day in the forecast maxes at a pitiful 12° C (not even below avg!).
The worst part, however, is the lack of seasonality this year: ranging from 11° / 20° C in March to 10° / 16° C so far in May…compare to the avg seasonal change of 12° / 22° C in March to 5° / 12° C in May. Might as well be in the tropics FFS.

Got up to 82 (27.6 c) today. Unfortunately I was wiped out from the vaccine all day so couldn’t take advantage of it.
Monday and Tuesday could get some snow. Hopefully it sticks and overperforms.

Disgusting for May. They are barely open in winter!

So.... we've already had our whole monthly average rainfall for May... in the first eight days. A few rainy days is normal but the amount of rain that seems to fall in these events has been substantially higher over the last few years, as borne out by the statistical data.

May 2019 had a very poor start - about as bad as one would expect here, but it was considerably milder and drier than 2021. This shows the first eight days of each month and the temp/rainfall anomaly. The cold nights especially abnormal, this year.
Further to that, May 2019 turned very good in the second half, something that isn't forecast at all this year - in fact more of the same, which should cement a record cold and wet month.

Still on the cool or I'd rather say on the cold side here too, 8.1c/2.7c. It was raining a little around noon but thankfully no sleet here.

Got up to 88F today which was the warmest temp of the year so far. Hasn't yet reached 90F and may be a while before it does. The past few days have been dry but more storms in the forecast next week with some below average highs.

A cold mothers day in store, we may not even reach 50 F. We might be close to the record cold max if the current temp remains.

28.4°C/83°F, quite a ways up from Thursday's 10.8°C/51°F high. Very nice day. Who's getting the stratiform rain while Normandy and eastern Île-de-France get the storms? EDIT: now the North Sea is getting all the action. Lol the best storm here was happened this morning at 7 am!
