Just take a look at these temps for May so far - and the ridiculous anomaly. SIX degrees below average!!!!! Anyone who thinks this is normal can suck it.

The first 5 days of May had a -2.9c anomaly relative to the 1991-2020 average (-4.2c relative to the monthly mean), which will only get worse as the month goes on. April 2021 had a -2.5c anomaly for the month.

Finally, we have an actual rainy day in the forecast! They're showing periods of rain for Saturday during the day and overnight! I just hope this doesn't fizzle out and turn out to be like 2mm or something, we really need the moisture right now. And just like that, our rain has disappeared. Saturday is now just showing Cloudy as the forecast, and the rest of the week after that is almost uninterrupted sunshine. Looks like we're really going into full desert mode this year.

^^^ Are you getting that Baltic warmth next week? Finally, we have an actual rainy day in the forecast! They're showing periods of rain for Saturday during the day and overnight! Man, I'd be considering slitting my wrists if I lived in Saskatoon atm.

^^^ Are you getting that Baltic warmth next week?
Possibly. And I wouldn't trust that Baltic warmth happening before it's actually there.
In the meantime heavy snow starting to fall in Northern Karelia:
Snowstorm to hit Eastern Finland on Thursday, accumulations over 20cm possible
Eastern Finland is bracing for heavy snow on Thursday and Friday. From Thursday night onwards, 10-25cm of snow may accumulate.
Yle meteorologist Joonas Koskela predicted on Wednesday evening that more than 20cm of snow will accumulate in Eastern and Central Finland. Some places may get 30cm of snow. In Lapland, more than 10cm of snow may accumulate on Friday and Saturday.
On Thursday, precipitation will start as rain, turning during the day into snow and sleet in North Karelia and North Savo. Toward evening, the precipitation will become snowier. Winds will also become stronger.
According to Koskela, the situation could even be described as "snow chaos".

Looks like we're really going into full desert mode this year. Fuck that. Man, I'd be considering slitting my wrists if I lived in Saskatoon atm. It's so dry right now that if I wasn't moisturizing my hands 20x per day I'm pretty sure my wrists would slit open all on their own Actually we may have some reprieve after all. While we're still not expecting any precipitation this week, The Weather Network's 14-day forecast is predicting 10 to 15 mm of rain on Saturday next week and 15mm on Sunday, both of those coinciding with the arrival of a cold front. Normally I don't take predictions that far out seriously (especially since they've wrongly predicted a couple of minor rainfalls in recent weeks), however they actually tend to be reasonably accurate when they predict significant precipitation events and weather pattern changes like this, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it'll actually happen. If we get close to those predicted numbers, that would give us about half of our average monthly rainfall in that weekend. We'll see.

Bit better today, high/low of 66/51. Saturday and Monday look cool, rainy, and crummy, finally there is an end in sight to this pattern, with warmth taking over around the 15th.

Decent warm-air advection ahead of a strong cold front should bring highs above 80°F for most of Germany on Sunday. This shambolic joke of a spring continues here.

Had an overnight low of 75 F (23.9 C) last night, 77 F (25 C) with a 73 F (22.8 C) dew point as of 8 am and it's heading up to 90 F (32.2 C) with a 50% chance of thunderstorms.
"Cold front" coming through tonight, with temps dropping down to a frigid 22 C, tomorrow will be a cold day with a high of 29 C and sunshine predicted.

Our averagay for May 1-6 is 11.8/2.8 °C, this would have been a decent start to March.

Here, we don't get the warm air at all. Just stuck under the trough as per normal these days. No doubt to be the repeating theme of summer as Northern Europe/Scandinavia/Latvia/Estonia blah blah whatever get heat and sun while we soak in cold rain. YAY!
