Much of the same weather lately, with guaranteed showers in the afternoon, sometimes thundery. Radar rn: Last few hours at Orly airport. You don't have To look at the rainfall to spot the showers. Any parameter will do really, from gusts to temperature to humidity yoyoing back and forth: Last Sunday's warm spike looks like a glitch on the monthly summary: Also, only one day had been rainless since the beginning of the month, despite the total thus far amounting to a meager 40 mm. Ridiculous ratio for the warm season.

Looks quite wet for TX & OK over the coming week and rainless over AL, GA, and SC. Hoping heavy rainfall stays to my west; it's been pretty saturated here for weeks.

10.9/0.0 for the first half of May this year compared to the 1991-2020 average of 11.6/0.7, so 0.7'C below average pretty much.
Kronoby has averaged 13.1/0.6
Værnes Airport in same latitude Norway has averaged 12.4/3.0 and Trondheim Voll has averaged 11.1/2.5
Oslo has been very unlucky, only 12.9/4.9. May there averages 16.7/6.8 for the whole month. April averages 11.0/2.1, so they're definitely a fair bit below average too.

Models are saying that hot weather is possible next week. Can go to 90 F in the northeast, with days surrounding it in the mid 80's. Make sure the AC is working, because you will need it to keep the house comfortable.

Monday's 30C got upgraded to 31C and Tuesday is now supposed to be 29C. After that it seems we're in for a major cool-down with highs dropping to just above 10C by the end of the week, but with a decent chance of much needed rain.

Very wintry today: just 2.4° C on 97% RH in the afternoon (as of 1:19 PM), and the max of 4.1° C was reached many hours earlier—before the westerly cloud intensified. Major forecast flop if it continues like this…was supposed to hit 6° C today.

GFS & ECMWF are in agreement that a heat dome should build into the eastern half of the US next weekend.

An average May in Sheffield has at least one period of weather where the temperatures reach the mid 70's (23-25°C), but this is the first one since 2015 to be consistently poor for temperatures and maybe the first on record not to reach 20°C.
There are now cold lovers on NetWeather actually complaining about the cold weather this May, saying it's the worst spring they can remember. That's saying a lot I think!!!

GFS & ECMWF are in agreement that a heat dome should build into the eastern half of the US next weekend. I'm always impressed with how hot it can get in southern parts of GA. Looks pretty toasty in Northern FL and SC too. Forecast here has 80s Wednesdays through Saturday with the hottest being 85 F/29 C. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets hotter than that.

The South Atlantic usually seems to get hotter in May than we get with more high pressure influence this time of the year. I'm guessing we don't have our first 90F temp until sometime around the end of the month.

Today's forecast high is 26C, but it's already 19C at 9:00am so I'm thinking there's a good chance we can surpass that.

Truly awful weather for the foreseeable future. Constant wind, no real chance of rain, low diurnals. The diurnal ranges are so bad that, despite having the coolest high of the month yesterday, we still had our warmest low we've had all year this morning (despite NWS' 68 F forecast low 🖕. They can't predict wind to save their lives). And that's despite mostly clear skies and some of the lowest dew points we've had all month. All because of the fucking wind. Horrible, horrible, horrible. And not only that, but the days are plagued with constant stratocumulus with no rain. Completely pointless, boring weather ( if you can even call it weather). Anti-weather may be more appropriate. To get a sense of truly how awful this wind is, take a look at this map of this morning's low temps. Area within 0-10 miles of the coast saw lows in the low 70s F, but places only about 10 miles further inland saw lows over 10 F cooler. 73 F at Stuart airport and 60 F at Allapattah.

Looks like Dickcaster had the storms today and nothing here. At least there's an entire summer ahead of us with more chances. A nice week long plume event with lots of humidity and instability would be very good this year please.

79/62 for the high/low here today with mostly cloudy conditions and another day with low humidity, down to 18% today. Some spotty, localised thunderstorms to our north, but really nice weather.
