Average high the last 5 days: 16.5C
Average low the last 5 days: 5.7C Highest: 18.3C Lowest: 4.5C
So fucken boring. And the lack of real warmth except for 2 days in May has led to disastrous results. We are not fully leafed out yet as of 25 May, something I've never seen before. Or if I have, I was either too young to remember, or didn't pay attention. So pre 2000 then.

We've had about 5 hours of sun in the past 9 days, but I like clouds, so I honestly don't mind. We'll get plenty of sun in summer like we always do.

Nice, slightly cool today with high/low of 72/59. At least 80s tomorrow and Thursday, marginal risk of severe weather tomorrow too, NWS says hail possible. First half of Memorial Day weekend looks shitty with 60s and showers. Second half looks passable with around 70 and some sun.

No, but if they happen, they happen now or from November to February. But if it happens in winter, there will be more high, thin clouds.

Rapidly catching back up towards an average month, after one of the coolest starts to May since well last year May 1-15 Highs: 60.3F (15.7C) May 1-15 Lows: 39.3F (4.1C) Mean: 49.8F (9.9C) Since Highs: 80.2F (26.7C) Since Lows: 53.1F (11.7C) Since Mean: 66.7F (19.2C) Literally jumped from April to June, May decided it didn't want to exist this year once again.

Jaja subarctique. Seriously though, I feel your frustration, not being fully leafed out by the end of May is quite aggravating.

Aspen are completely bare, and oaks as well. Some linden have started getting tiny leaves, and even maples are still just blooming; their leaves are still just in that "closed" stage where they're out but kinda curled together into a closed fist. And in general there are a lot of trees that only have small leaves.

Infamous shit spring/May 2020 pictures from Northern PA. These pictures were taken on June 4th!!!! Extremely late and rare for even Northern PA. These pictures are at about 2,000ft ASL, valleys below are 800ft and greener. Mountains in the distance are about 2,600ft ASL and presumably even more bare.

Some Sheffield stats for the past 7 days: Avg Max: 12.5°C Avg Min: 6.3°C Highest: 13.8°C Lowest: 4.6°C
Our long term average max over this period is 18°C, so, 5.5°C below average this week.

Noticed an error at the airport today thanks to my pws. There was a gap of data between 21:00 and 01:00. What's funny is that when 01:00 and 02:00 were put at 22:00 and 23:00 they matched up with my pws. Also interesting is that the temp has been markedly cooler during the day today at the airport than at my place, despite there being strong N to NE winds, that shouldn't affect the airport differently than my station. (S to E winds will however have no forest between the sea and the airport, whereas my station will have a bunch of dense taiga forest as well as urban environment in those directions, probably reducing some of the seabreeze). Today had no sea breeze, and it was very windy so I don't really see why it would be so markedly warmer at my PWS than at the airport (pretty much blue dome sky weather btw). Remember, on the 20th it was a calm and warm blue dome sky day that recorded a 19.8/1.8 high/low at the airport and 19.7/6.6 high/low at the PWS, with temps being pretty much identical during the day, when it was sunny and there was no wind.

This is more the type of stuff I want to see! Hopefully like our bullshit cold wet weather, this will get protracted out and not be just a two day affair.

Newark is not a legitimate station. Muh global warming data !!!! On a side note, chance for some good T-storms today like Central Fla. That's the only good thing about humid heat.

Yeah I saw that. Much less here than expected. 11.4 mm so far, when we expected around 30 mm. But it should continue raining at least until 5:00, so let's see what we end up with.
