What is the most memorable crummer you have experienced. What were the temps like during that period. For me, I think July 2014 was quite memorable. I planned a trip to Burlington VT and it was 64 F at 2 PM with wind and overcast drizzle . The low that night was 52 F with damp overcast skies. What was supposed to be a fun summer boat ride turned out to be a miserable wet mess. Similar thing happened to me when I went up north in July 2017. But at least my mother wasn't there complaining and I was drinking with friends that night.

2012, in Buxton, England.
Avg max in June was 59ยฐF, 11" of rain fell, with only one thunderstorm all month. 100 hours of sun were recorded.

2009 was absolute dog shit, June and July were very damp and cloudy, August was fairly normal but by then it was too late.
It was followed by the legendary summer of 2010, it was as if the heat that didnโt show up in 2009 got added into the summer of 2010.
2011, 2012, and 2013 were also A+ summers, so far nothing has approached the atrocity that was 2009.

Regarding 2009, you pulled the words right out of my mouth. My last day of school that year was June 9. The high that day was 58'F (14'C). Even worse is that that day was WARMER than the three days preceding it. It's after Memorial Day, it's a Saturday, school's almost over...and the high is 52. Absolutely disgusting. Somehow June ended up being "only" -1.3'F below average despite that, given the fluke 95'F (35'C) day on the 23rd; it was also over an inch drier than average with the majority of the rain coming in just that first gay weekend. July 2009 was dry as fuck, only 1.33" (average is 3.40"). We didn't make it to 30'C the whole month, the month as a whole was 5.9'F below average, and there were four lows of 48'F (9'C) sprinkled through the month as well. Most days were in the 70s, with a few in the 60s and a few in the 80s. August was the warmest month of the summer with an absolutely sweltering average temperature of 65.9'F, and the wettest rainfall of 3.33"...which is still 0.35" below average. There was also a high of 60 on the 29th, and a low of 40 on the 31st - disgusting. No 90s that month either, and September actually felt more summer-like than June or July even despite the 31'F low at the end and the paltry 1.22" precip total. It was my last summer without much in the way of other commitments, but the shitty weather definitely got in the way of my enjoyment of it. Also on the list of shitty summers here is 2004. No 90s. Low of 39 in August. Very wet May and decently wet June followed by half of average precip totals in July and August, and almost no precip all September. No wonder my 7th grade dream climates were the hottest they've been in my life - I was pissed at how April-like that whole crummer was! 2003 had the shittiest June since I got into weather in '99 - summer opened with a low of 36'F (2'C), and June 28 had a high of 58. That is not a typo. At least August was decent, but that doesn't excuse how pathetic June was other than the 22nd through 25th. Augvembers 2014 and 2017 had monthly maxes of 84'F (29'C). Boke.

Last June was properly summerlike. I hate it when June is chilly & wet, for some reason.

Allow me to present the Craptastic Crummer of 2004, with Bonus Boke of May included for context: 2009 coming soon. The second half of July looks summer-like. I don't mind highs in the 50's and 60's in May, but it shouldn't happen June - August. The high should at least be 70 F for me to classify the day as summery, else I call it crummer. Cant wait for the Aussie folks to chime in though

Not sure, donโt remember specific summers as a kidโthey all just felt warm/hot to me and the last bunch Iโve been traveling much of the summer and havenโt experienced them.
Maybe late July 2017 when we had our family reunion at a lakehouse on one of the finger lakes and the water was freezing and it was in the upper 60s with drizzle two days.

June 2015. Fuck that month. Fuck all of summer 2015 actually. alex992 Knows the suffering we went through that month Look at this shit. An unbelievably pathetic 1.20" of rain in what's supposed to be the wettest month of the year.

Quite simply I've been through the worst summer months of anyone on here. Below are a few from Buxton and the last two from Sheffield (both those months had about 110 hours of sun). August 2010, Buxton. June 2012, Buxton. July 2012, Buxton. August 2014, Buxton. June 2019, Sheffield. July 2020, Sheffield.

Summer of 04 for Winnipeg.
It was the coldest June-August since records began in 1873.

MET June 2012 never hit 70'F the entire month? Fail. FrozenI69 I don't mind upper 50s or 60s in May either - you gotta take what you can get. My cutoff Jun-Aug is 80'F though for it to feel like summer, which often leaves me disappointed. Here's my fail of a summer in 2009:

Not such thing as a โcrummerโ for me. Around here, the coolest ones are the best and even the driest summer months tend to be closer to my ideal than the average ones. For shit summers, I would single out 2014 for being exceptionally cloudy though.

I'm speaking of Normandyโthough I recall a decent heat wave on a day-trip to Paris in July 2016, and that late August heat wave; I can't be bothered to check the stats, though
