I think the Green Tree Frogs know something we don't.... still croaking out the mating call, laying eggs and producing tadpoles in mid April... I hope it means an extension to our wet season. Usually by mid April things are winding down re rain and humidity. The frogs are saying otherwise.

I tried giving my girl a nice juicy woodlouse today. She only has 6 legs due to some type of accident, so that could make it harder to her to catch stuff. The poor gal didn't get her woodlouse because it fell out of her web and then she didn't seem interested anyway.

Large whale sighted in Finnish waters
Two different fishing groups reported seeing a whale off the coast of the ร
land Islands on Saturday and Sunday, according to Ilta-Sanomat.
Fishermen spotted the marine mammal south of Kรถkar, one of the ร
land islands, on Saturday, when it circled their boat. On Sunday, another group fishing in the area saw it south of Eckerรถ, another island that's part of ร
land.
"It came close enough to reach out and touch," one of the men told the paper.
Markus Dernjatin, a former curator at aquarium chain Sealife, said photos of the animal suggested that it was a humpback whale.
This is not the first time a marine mammal has strayed into Finnish waters. In 2018, the Finnish Coast Guard rescued a humpback whale trapped in a fish net off the west coast. Two years later, three bottlenose dolphins were sighted off the Finnish coast for the first time in nearly 70 years, and last year a visiting walrus caused a stir in the seaside town of Hamina.
Shoot the bastard!
Just kidding.

I have a big net curtain in the window of the bedroom. I just noticed there is a spider in it - sitting there waiting. Sitting on the actual net curtain, not in its own web. I wondered - does the spider actually think the net curtain is a cobweb?

I wondered - does the spider actually think the net curtain is a cobweb? Probably not. I think it can tell that it is different but it co-opted it for its purposes.

The spider in the bathroom who recently hatched 32 baby spiders went off and attacked another spider nearby, and gobbled its insides up.

Had to bump off a bunch of the spiders from the bathroom, feels evil but there was a risk of me getting draped in cobwebs every time I need a piss or having spiders falling all over me and going in my hair, so not ideal. There aren't enough bugs for them to eat in there anyway tbh so some even resorted to cannibalism, probably good to put some out of their misery.

Imagine being a penguin there. This shit is terrifying, especially when you're a slow animal and you don't have a place to hide.
