Obviously it didn't. 👍 Neat shelf cloud on that one. Unfortunately it didn't wake me up in time. Pic from cytruj on Infoclimat: Lots of rain in spots it seems, with instantaneous rainfall rates up to 320 mm/h.

Ariete Quite the contrast between a warm western and a cold eastern Europe this week
It's definitely rare, and it's not often when the northernmost station is the warmest in the country, but it's not a new record high, or would even be the record high for May. But sure, rare. 29.4C is the final official reading.

Saskatoon reached 34.5C yesterday, short of our 36C forecast high but still our warmest temperature of the year and warmest temperature since August 18th last year. That seems to be the end of our heatwave as we're only going up to 29C today and then lower in the 20s the rest of the week, though still above average.
In other news, I finally got around to tallying up the sunshine hours for Saskatoon this year and every single month so far has been above average. We're currently sitting at 1152.6 sunshine hours as of the end of May, versus the average of 895.4 for that same time of the year, or roughly 29% above average.
We've actually also surpassed the hours from that timeframe in 2011 which was the sunniest year on record, so this could be another record breaking year of sunshine. That wouldn't be much of a surprise, as the 3 sunniest years on record were all in the past decade.

weekend forecast. look the overnight low Saturday is almost 10°F above the dewpoint. there's almost no UHI here Yahya Sinwar the drops to the dewpoint only happens half the time, so it's not a perfect estimation of a non-UHI climate

weather map has a cold front passing thru the eastern US, before a big heat wave. can't remember why it's a cold front, jut because at the front cold air is above warm hottest day will be Tuesday, does this look like a heat wave pattern for northern New England from the surface map? AJ1013 tommyFL

In non uhi climates dewpoint and average lows match very well in the eastern US. Only truth you said is its not perfect, but its pretty damn close.

Another warm day. 24.0 has been recorded at my pws so far, and there's barely any wind. Pretty sweaty even in shorts and a white t-shirt. 11.9'C low at the PWS as well, and 7.4'C at the airport, which is the warmest so far this year.

Some areas have been hogging all the rain so far this month. Most of this rain was from nocturnal showers that hug the coast and rarely extend much further west than the Turnpike. Last night was a great example of this. Despite being only one mile east of me, the COOP station's 24hr rainfall ending 7 am this morning was about twice of mine: 1.12" (28.4 mm) vs. 0.57" (14.5 mm) Month-to-date rainfall My PWS: 1.30" (33.0 mm)

just got destroyed by a massive hailstorm. Dropped the temp by 15f as it passed thru, had some strong winds too. Got so dark that the street lights came on in the middle of the day. Blasting thunder and heavy rain made the downhill streets look like rivers. Got a video, might post later

Taken during, quite literally, "the calm before the storm". At the local park during this pic, from 4:05 local time. Playing basketball with my friends to the tune of thunder rumbling, but no rain. Quite epic. High/low of 79/67 today.

There it is. Distinctive noise as it impacts the surface. This storm was a fun surprise as I don't really pay attention to weather during the shit season.
