Amazingly, it looks like summer will actually start off warmer than average.

Lima is an oddly boring climate.

That's a quality strike. 50 years until the next one? Edit: I was being silly but it appears that this is the first thunderstorm there in 61 years!

Apparently, but I’m a bit confused about that statement. I’m quite sure some thunders were heard a few years ago, but it seems it’s indeed the lightning strikes cloud-to-ground are the 1 in 50/60 years thing. All in all, an exceptional event that surprised everyone in Lima.

As the best season of the year—summer, is one step closer, I'll post this in here. Wk. 3 isn't looking too bad according to ECMWF's weekly forecasts. Hope the troughing bullshit doesn't reach further east than currently expected.

Let's post our weather in this thread now, not the spring discussion, as it's meteorological summer officially starting today. High/low of 78/56, mostly cloudy but nice and dry here today, humidity down to 29%. NWS has 80s taking over Friday with no end in sight, plus a few 90s . Models are showing 90s everyday once we get to Sunday, GFS shows a run at 100!

Posted in the wrong thread earlier. Deleted the other post.
Jacksonville fell to an incredible 55 F (12.8 C) this morning, the lowest June temp since 1984.
The coolest place in Florida was 54 F (12.2 C) at Eddy Tower, which breaks the June record low since the station began operation in 2004.
Across the Georgia border, the RAWS station in the Okefenokee Swamp "Oke-NW" fell to 49 F (9.4 C).

We now have four days above 30C in the forecast for this week! Even in mid-summer we don't usually get more than a couple in a row, so having this many in early June is pretty incredible!

Today's high has been 67°F (19.5°C) in Norman, and 69°F (20.5°C) in Oklahoma City. We had some drizzle today, and it's been overcast for all but about 10 minutes. I'm liking the cool weather.

Temperatures are on the rebound after a record breaking cold Memorial Day weekend. Seasonable 70s most of the week with the next chance of heat this weekend into early next week.

Strong mid-level ridging should build over the Northeast Sunday/Monday—NWS already calls for highs above 90°F.

Large low difference between the AP and PWS last night. 3.2'C vs 8.0'C
The last 6 nights have been 3.0'C milder at my PWS than the airport on average.

24-hour rainfall ending 8 AM this morning. All of us are equal, but some of us are more equal than others. In order words, these kind of showers are absolutely shit for reliable, widespread rain.
