Even if high pressure will dominate I don't think we're gonna be at or above 25C again for the rest of the month

Quick lil anecdote.
So I'm on this language exchange app and I'm part of this group with a bunch of Spanish speakers and most of them are from Colombia and they start off by saying where in Colombia they're from. A lot of them will introduce themselves by saying I'm from X where it's always hot/rainy/cold etc. It's weird to me that this would be the first thing they'd say about their city as someone from the UK where there's barely any climatic diversity between cities so it's not really necessary to talk about your city's climate with another Brit. However, I guess in places like Colombia with so much variation it can be a good way to differentiate cities. Idk I thought this was kinda call lol

Also there's a girl on there from Quibdo which I thought was awesome and I asked her what she thought of her climate and she said she loves it lol even if it rains constantly.

I love seeing the vegetation come out but I'm not such a big fan of pollen season, I developed seasonal allergies a few years back and the first few weeks of growth are always a bit irritating. The extreme dryness here doesn't help, either. Looking forward to everything finally being green.

Unlike the sunny April, so far we have seen just 87 ensoleillement hours in May! Extremely cloudy
Doesn't bother me much though, after the extremely sunny April some clouds are actually refreshing

Almost 4 fully clear May days in a row, which is unheard of in Melbourne. Today had some wispy clouds so I can't count it as fully clear, but it was still mostly sunny.

Record low ice maximum in the baltic/bothnian seas this year. On the 27th, SMHI says there was a bridge of ice stretching all the way across North Kvarken from Umeรฅ to Vaasa. This is what it looked like on their charts: And this is what that looked like on satellite images...

In northernmost Sweden, the ski season is still running, and yesterday, a ski center near Kiruna was open during the midnight sun for the first time ever.

It's not relenting, perhaps May is in with a shout. Spring overall set to be sunniest on record. May set to be the driest on record. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52849367

The current driest Mays in London are 1990 (4.1mm) and 1956 (4.2mm). The first week of June looks cool and unsettled, but signs that the 2nd week will return to settled and dry conditions. The 13th June curse may finally be broken!

The 13th June curse may finally be broken! I really hope this pattern sets in for summer too.. it has been so nice to wake up to blue skies pretty much every day since early April! March was pretty average but since the start of April it has just been sunny and warm most days. Iโm still sceptical about how sunshine is recorded, most days this week have been cloudless but the recorder seems to vary quite a bit and never more than 13 hours in a day despite nearly 16 hours of daylight
