I lost interest in the weather section a while back, mainly due to a shortage of UK members to discuss my weather with. I still post photos, but I'm not the sort to give daily weather updates unless something notable is happening.
Climate battles are a unique selling point of this place. Although the novelty eventually wears off. However, I do appreciate high effort posts, like the ones Greys has done recently.

Some members, such as myself focus on the weather section because it's what brought me to this forum, and C-D in the first place. I won't stop posting photographs or in the weather section, but I wasn't a super active poster on the seasonal threads until a few months ago for a similar reason: there's a shortage of non-UK/Scandinavian European members on this forum, and the ones that are somewhat active (not going to name-drop who with a post) also don't use often, if at all the shoutbox, so that kinda dragged down my interest factor in discussing the weather in Europe at the time. I believe that 120-160 PPD will be normal for the foreseeable future, unless a bunch of users leave the forum, which I don't see happening anytime soon.

I probably have one of the most boring climates on here and the weather section is still my "go to"....it's the main selling point and most important part of the forum IMO. Although fair enough, I have Tommy and AJ to discuss Florida weather with, but I do like seeing the interesting weather that happens in other places and I like seeing people discuss the weather they're having. Plus, I myself look up the weather for places I find interesting and will discuss it in the seasonal threads if my own weather is too boring.
I do post on the Chat Threads sometimes, have little interest in politics because it's always the same topics being discussed and we all know where everyone stands politically anyways, so it just gets repetitive. The meme thread and C-D bashing threads are hilarious though and I do like the Music section (I've been neglecting it recently though).

The weather section is definitely the main appeal of this forum for me. I have literally the entire internet at my disposal to argue with anonymous people about politics or get involved with petty drama, but there are not too many other places where I can discuss weather the way I can here.

It shouldn't be too hard to recruit from other weather forums, not just CD. This place offers something different in that it talks about world (rather than just regional) weather, climate battles, and has actual free speech. It's been a while since we had a serious recruitment drive.

It's been a while since we had a serious recruitment drive. Couldn't agree more—that's our chief selling point. Even the top-tier weather forums like Ski.com.au get very quiet when no actual weather is occuring (even the NSW/ACT and VIC threads can go multiple days with less than 5 posts total)…whereas on here we have many other topics to discuss, plus the extras like climate battles and shoutbox to keep it going during quiet weather periods.

Although the novelty eventually wears off. However, I do appreciate high effort posts, like the ones Greys has done recently. Same here. Right now I honestly don't give a frog's fat ass about my weather. Summer was a below average boring ass lukewarm stormless piece of shit nonevent, and that shit has continued into 2021. A light shower is noteworthy at this point. I would be a bot basically repeating the same shit every day. BORING! I only ever tend to post when something interesting happens, like Nov 2020, and the early April warmth. I'll also post when the weather is in some fashion, stupidly cold etc, because I THRIVE on anger and hate. But now, we are back to lame below average nonevent boring ass shit. Even simply reading the weather section brings me to tears, as page after page is FILLED with people getting more interesting weather, better weather, weather that I wish I had, and more storms than me. Honestly I am more interested in the chat section and the meme / bashing / forum threads at this point. So it's safe to say I contribute to gaytime with my lack of posting in weather. I appreciate the high detail posts, like greysrigging's, but I can't see myself spending an hour or two typing up stories and putting in pics in so 2 people can give it a like.

And right on fucking cue.... cdweather.boards.net/post/168829/threadAmazing, no posts in the chat threads today (Gaypril 14th), and perhaps 10 posts in weather. I'd make a post but who the fuck cares hearing about low 20's high temps and scattered stratocrapulus every day

I tend not to post weather updates unless something interesting is happening too.. I'll occasionally post a forecast update but there's been nothing notable this year apart from consistent below average cloudy crap. April has been sunny but also consistently below average, don't think anyone would get excited by a forecast of low to mid teens everyday

April 27, 2021. TWO (2) posts in the SH/NH threads in the last 24 hours (as of 4.22pm ACDT), and no posts in the chat threads. And there was 1 gaytime old sports discussion in the shitbox when I was on my lunch break. LMFAO A new low for lame gayshit and gaytime
