Quite a good June I must say, coolest since 2012 and coolest winter month since July 2015. We also had our first sub 10C day since 1990. Rainfall lower than average, but we had drips and drops throughout the month rather than a dump. I work overnights so I generally experienced the lows and slept through the highs.

June was warmer and drier than average. We had more highs above 30C than below 20C which is highly unusual. There were 7 days above 30C, plus two additional days within half a degree of the threshold (one of which was 29.9C). Most of our rainfall came within two major rainfall events in the first half of the month and we almost dipped below freezing on the morning of the 21st. I imagine the sunshine hours were probably above average, just like all the other months this year so far. Average high: 26.1C (normal: 22.4C) Average low: 9.9C (normal: 9.2C) Mean temperature: 18.0C (normal: 15.8C) Warmest high: 35.0C (June 30th) Warmest low: 18.7C (June 15th) Warmest mean: 26.2C (June 15th) Coldest high: 17.5C (June 18th) Coldest low: 0.7C (June 21st) Coldest mean: 11.1C (June 20th) Precipitation: 41.7mm (normal: 65.8mm) Precipitation days: 10 (normal: 12.1) Wettest day: 22.2mm (June 10th)

A little bit of a roller coaster but June ended up finishing 2 F above the long-term average. 7 days were at or above 90 F/32 C and June 30th topped out at an impressive 96 F. Max High: 96 F/35.5 C (June 30th) Min High: 71 F/22 C (June 3rd and 12th) Min Low: 42 F/6 C (June 17th) Max Low: 73 F/23 C (June 27th)

Rather warm June here. No extreme heat, but a couple 90 F days. Average low was equal to that of july though, and that's with the unusually chilly 45 F low:

The first half of June here was mostly dry & warm, the second half was unsettled with plenty of showers, some heavy, & cool. One day was one of the coolest June days on record. Despite this overall the month came in slightly above the 1981-2010 average, thanks to the milder nights. Rainfall was well above average & sunshine was below average. I have found a source for data from the Met Office station at Gosport/Fleetlands, so will use this station as well as Thorney Island as it is a little more representative of my location, though Thorney Island is closer (7 miles away). Thorney Island Av.Max 19.4C (-0.1C) Av.Min 12.0C (+0.7C) Mean 15.7C (+0.3C) Highest Max 25.6C (14th) Lowest Min 7.6C (23rd) Lowest Max 13.5C (21st) Highest Min 15.9C (17th) Rainfall 103.8mm (235%) Max Rain in Day 26.8mm (27th) Days with Rain 13 (+5.5) Days with Thunder 0 *Sunshine 184.0hrs (84%) *from Gosport Max UV 8.5 (12th) Min UV 6.6 (5th) Gosport/Fleetlands Av.Max 20.4C Av.Min 12.4C Mean 16.4C Highest Max 28.1C (14th) Lowest Min 6.7C (9th) Lowest Max 13.9C (21st) Highest Min 16.0C (17th) Rainfall 88.6mm Max Rain in Day 20.8mm (18th) Days with Rain 13 Days with Thunder 0

Average June conditions Mean maximum: 18.3°C | Average high: 14.4°C | Daily mean: 10.5°C | Average low: 6.5°C | Mean minimum: 0.4°C Average precipitation: 40.0mm | Average precipitation days (>0.2mm): 13.9 | Average relative humidity: 81% | Mean monthly sunshine hours: 123.0
Last month was a fairly typical June, with temperatures being about half a degree C above average. Sunshine hours were a bit below average, while rainfall was slightly above normal, due to a handful of rain bearing cold fronts and low pressure systems. Otherwise, nothing really notable occurred.

June was the warmest on record. It was also very dry, but didn't reach the top 5 driest Junes. Turku recorded a 19.1C mean using FMI's every three hour means, which beat June 2020 with 0.2C. With the min+max/2 method this one was 18.9C as well. Warmest station was Lappeenranta Lepola with a mean of 20.2C. Finland recorded its warmest June low on record as well, at Helsinki Kumpula with 22.5C.
Highest high: 31.2C (22nd) Highest low: 20.7C (22nd) <--- NEW June record Lowest high: 17.0C (13th) Lowest low: 7.3C (2nd)
The 4 warmest stations in Finland this June,
Lappeenranta Lepola: 24.7C/15.3C
Kouvola Utti: 25.4C/13.6C Tampere Tampella: 24.8C/15.8C Lahti: 25.1C/14.0C
Lappeenranta and Utti recorded twice as many days above 30C (4) than below 20C (2). Lahti recorded 5 consecutive days above 30C which I think is a June record, or at least tied as such.
What can I say? Great month, though the most intense heat avoided Turku except for that one day.

Good month. The only thing you can complain about is having less positive deviations than Finland and southern Sweden. Comparison with 1991-2020 (last 10 years) Highs: +2.4 (+1.8) Lows: +1.5 (+1.4) Mean: +2.2 (+1.8) Precipitation: 110% (120%) Sunshine: 108% (106%) Non-Official stations in the area: My PWS a few hundred meters from where I live. I noticed that during rainy periods, when the RH was 100% at my PWS, the dew point readings would be higher than the temperature readings, and in these cases the dew point readings would be pretty much identical with the temp at the airport, whereas the temp readings would be significantly cooler, so for the (three) days where the dew point high was higher than the air temp high, I've used those values instead. (Using only the temperature readings, the average high was 19.7). When I compared hourly readings for the first 14 days with the airport, the PWS was 0.2'C warmer in highs, whereas the PWS was 0.3'C colder in highs when comparing minute readings. Thus, there's on average a 0.5'C loss on the highs due to slower-than-ideal response time of the sensor. This loss was lower on the lows, only 0.2'C. Thus, you could extrapolate that my station would've recorded 20.4/10.7 if a PT100 sensor were used instead. Uni station. It's located on a roof patio one floor up. Precipitation readings are highly unreliable. Over-reads slightly during sunny weather due to not having grass underneath, but some of this is mitigated by the sensor effectively being around 5m above the ground. A PWS in a rural setting just west of the Umeå city border. Both temperature readings and precipitation readings seem reliable (except in January of course due to lack of snow-melt) Traffic agency station about 20km west of the Umeå city border, at 105m ASL. Unfortunately 4 days were missing in May. SMHI PDF summary of the month: Precipitation and sunshine Temperature and wind: Stockholm tied the all-time record mean of 19.3'C (which is the longest standing monthly mean record, set in Strömstad in SW Sweden, close to Norway, in the late 1800's). Also noteworthy is the 25.8'C average high in Målilla which could be an all-time record as well. Very sunny and dry in southern Sweden, and of course warm.

The south coast recorded impressive amounts of ensoleillements. Helsinki and Utö recorded 406 hours, and Kotka 403 hours of sunshine. Polar Day Utsjoki Kevo had to be content with 267 hours.

Målilla seems to have been the warmest non-UHI station in Sweden Babu? Still very impressive. Oslo had a virgin 17.5C mean according to Infoclitmat. Lolz.

I mean, there are a lot of stations that aren't included on the PDF. The Norrköping station has very little UHI. A newly re-opened station in Mörbylånga (SW Öland) recorded a 18.9'C mean when using Öland's Norra Udde A to fill in the three missing days. That's probably the warmest non-UHI station (although I'd have to take a closer inspection of the station). Stockholm-Bromma recorded a 18.6'C mean. And the Malmö station is hardly a UHI station. These are all SMHI-means. For some stations, the max-min-mean is higher, for some, it's lower. Stockholm UHI had a max-min-mean of 19.6'C for example.

Here there is my brief monthly summary. Overall it was a quite warm June, with some quite impressive rain spells in various spots of the region. Starting from the closest weather station to my home village: Turin city center (the closest weather station to where I'm staying the most of the time, lots of UHI effect) ^ that rain peak broke a record about the amount of rain fallen in 3 h, I wrote about it in here. Turin airport So that this last one is the most official one, I'm using this one for the historical comparisons ( refs, I found the 1971-2000 avg). Overall the temps are closer to the July averages than the June ones reported on wikipedia, meaning a deviation of +3.2°C for the highs and of +3°C for the lows. The total amount of rain is quite close to the norm, but the number of rainy days was generally higher. At this point I really hope that July won't warm up much more than this, because in here almost no one has an AC at home (me included).
