Looks like Stockholm was the first European capital to record a freeze this morning, -0.2C at Bromma airport. Thought Helsinki might have recorded one already but apparently not.

Since the center of this cold wave is somewhere in Belarus, eastern Latvia or somewhere there, it is no wonder that my nearest station has been the coldest in the country. 0.6c (16th september) As for the capitals, the coldest temperature in Tallinn has been 5.1c (today).

The UHI of Riga is not that strong. The airport of Riga has not gone below 4C. If there are clouds and a certain wind direction, there is almost no influence...Otherwise, yes, there are Latvian weather stations which have recorded frost.

No idea, as the nearest weather station to me is 30 fucking miles away. That station is at Leconfield, and it dropped to 8.1C on the 17th.
