Milder morning and lower diurnal range today with a high/low of 63 F/42 F (17 C/6 C). Forecast low of 34 F/1 C tonight but maybe we'll get a little lower with the dewpoints hovering at or below freezing. We'll see. A massive storm is approaching today. Also, there will be snow this Sunday, in time for football. Stocked up on beer and spicy chips.

There was a tornado in Tulsa last night.
Here in Norman, all we got was some light rain and a couple lightning strikes.

In Boca Ratรณn, FL for the weekend. Using Pompano Beach (PMP, the nearest station) high/low of 84/76 here with partly cloudy and humid conditions, dews up into the 70s. Havenโt felt this type of humidity since September, feels pretty nice out though. Supposed to be getting thunderstorms at home tonight into tomorrow with a strong cold front that is forecast to drop 1-2โ of rain. Wish they happened when I wasnโt away lol. Imagine how pissed Beercules would be.

Forecast low of -15C tonight! Last time we hit -15C was March 31st (exact) / April 23rd (rounded). Our coldest temperature of the season so far has been -11.2C so this will be a good drop from that.
Tomorrow's forecast high of -6C will also be our coldest in quite a long time, as we haven't yet had a sub-freezing high this season. Last time we had a sub-freezing high was on March 30th, and last time we had a high of -6C or colder was February 28th. I was quite surprised to find that when I looked through the data!

Winter is officially here, though we haven't had our first snowfall even yet. The brown bears in Helsinki Zoo have gone into hibernation, and are expected to re-emerge in March.

Outback Deluge Transforms Red Centre ( Source: Weatherzone ) Image: A serene scene after heavy November rain, from a Station near Tanami Road in the NT. Source: @shellandluke / Instagram Heavy rain has brought outback rivers to life in central Australia this week, with satellite images revealing just how much the landscape has been transformed by the influx of water. A large mass of rain-bearing clouds being triggered by a developing low pressure system and fuelled by tropical moisture caused widespread and heavy rain over central Australia earlier this week. During the five days ending at 9am on Thursday, Alice Springs Airport received 153.4mm of rain. This is around five months' worth of rain for this time of year. The soaking also included 100.2mm in 24 hours, which was the heaviest daily rain in 21 years at Alice Springs. Unsurprisingly, the mighty Todd River has been flowing steadily following this week's downpours. Image: Tood River in flow at Alice Springs on November 10th, 2021. Source: @krusty1970 / Instagram Image: A reminder to never drive through floodwaters. Todd River on November 10th, 2021. Source: @lucy.blom There was also enough rain this week to cause waterfalls on Uluru, sending veins of water flowing down the cratered sides of the red monolith. Image: The rare sight of waterfalls on Uluru, captured on November 10th, 2021. Source: @rjs_reels / Instagram But as impressive as the response to this week's rain is when viewed from the ground, the transformation of the landscape has also been visible from space. The Sentinel-2A satellite captured the two images below exactly one week apart, the first on Thursday last week and the second on Thursday this week. The images above use artificial colours to enhance the features detected by the satellite. Light green colours show land and dark blue is water. With the past week's drenching, Alice Springs has now collected 196.2mm of rain so far this month, making this its wettest calendar month since January 2001.

It's a beautiful day today with temperatures in the mid-50s F (12-13C) and sunny skies. Perfect November weather. There's a lot of good fall color on the trees still too.

We failed to hit our forecast low of -15C yesterday, but we're pretty close this morning! We've been sitting at -14C for the last couple of hours and that's just the hourly low, I'd say there's a decent chance the official low will be around -15C (we'll find out tomorrow). This is officially our coldest temperature since April 23rd, which was quite an anomaly that month as the previous time we'd gotten this cold was on March 31st.
Winter is officially back in Saskatoon.
