As fall is fast approaching for some of you NH'er's, I figured I'd start this new seasonal thread, dedicated to discussing weather trends, weather within or outside your area, etc. Looking a fair bit below average into next week for central & eastern Europe, even with African HP trying to build back into the Med mid-late week.

Well, itโs September 1st and feeling like fall for sure. High of just 72 F today here north of NYC. Thatโs the average high temp here for the autumnal equinox, and 8 F below average. Low temp of 59 F tonight, which is 4 F below average.

"Fall" my ass. Had an overnight low of 76 F (24.4 C) last night due to rain-cooled temps. 83 F (28.3 C) with a 78 F (25.6 C) dew point as of 9 am, today's predicted high is 94 F (34.4 C) with a 40% chance of thunderstorms.

September 1 is the first day of school in Latvia, fortunately, not for me! Low 13.1C and high 16.5C in Riga, dry, partly sunny and with a northerly wind.

Actually had a little bit of rain this evening. No thunder unfortunately but the rain was light enough, it was actually refreshing.
High was 91 (33 c), a warm open to September but it was overcast and windy much of the afternoon so it felt nowhere near that warm.

AJ1013 You were boasting about how your high will wind up in the lower-mid 80s in Tucson in the shoutbox. Look where that forecast went!

Temps @ 1.30pm. Look at those temps in SW Tasmania, the worst climate in Australia. Be lucky to see even a handful of those temps in crummer there. Even Maatsyker Island off the very southern tip is on 24C

Eventful start to fall. Got slammed by the remnants of Ida. Tropical storm conditions and thunderstorms here last night, sustained winds got up to 40 mph with gusts to 47 @ LGA. Terrible flooding in Jersey and tons of power outages here.
Thankfully itโs back to a dry pattern for the upcoming days. Cool and comfortable as well, highs in the 70s until next week, back to low 80s via the NWS forecast.

Sharp cutoff in rainfall here on Long Island. Iโm on the border between those crazy totals of NYC and the still heavy 2โ+ zone.

Very nice calm coastal California like weather for the next few days. No rain, sunny, comfortable dews.
This is the weather most people who don't like climatic disruption want 365 days a year, which is why they move to coastal California and cope with outrageous prices.

Today will be the first day since 28 May when Turku fails to hit 15C. There have been already 2 such days in Riga in August! Today, it has got above 15C in Riga though...
