It got up to 92F (33C) today, but humidity was still really low. I'd like some cooler weather, but I can't really complain.

Here's an interesting phenomenon we're experiencing right now: a lot of grass in town is turning green again despite the arrival of fall. This is of course due to our stretch of cooler, wetter weather after a hot and very dry summer, but it's still very strange to see such a reversal from our normal pattern. I don't think I've ever seen it be greener in September than July over here.

Got to 96 (36 c) today. Spot on the NWS forecast but a bust per TWC. A daily record still but a few f off the monthly record. Tomorrow will give it another run but I’m not optimistic.
Really dry today, with relative humidity down to 7%. Also a big diurnal, warmed up from 51 (11 c).

Sunny all day with a very light southerly wind, low 12.9C and high 24.0C in Riga. The warmest day this month?

Smoky skies today in Norman. A ridge out west has directed the smoke from the Northwest US south over us.

High was 98 (36.7 c) today. Temps plateaued in the low 90s for a few hours in the early afternoon so it didn’t get as warm as it could have although still quite impressive.
The latest ever it’s been this hot and smashed the daily record. T-3rd hottest September day ever.
September days >= 97:
1893-2012: 1 2013-2021: 6 in 5 years
September days >= 98:
1893-2016: Never 2017: 1 2019: 1 2020: 1 2021: 1
Lots of September heatwaves recently.
This is hotter than any temp in July or August, both of which were above average.
It was extremely dry yet again, at one point having a 96/20 temp/dp combo (that’s 36/-7 c). Relative humidity dipped to 5% which is the lowest this year.

High/low of 76/66 and sunny with dewpoints into the 40s and strong NW'ly winds, so very nice comfortable weather.
Similar 75/67 here @ Montauk -- I'm on East End of LI for the weekend.

High/low of 80/64 @ LGA, low temps dropped into the 50s in non-UHI areas. Dewpoints in the 40s with sun, beautiful!
Here in Montauk blue dome skies, 75/65, and dews in the 50s.

High was 96 (36 c) today, the 3rd straight 95 f which has never happened before in September.
Had a warm morning and got to the mid 90s much earlier than the last 2 days, and blew past the forecast, but then clouds moved in, causing an earlier high.
At one point in the afternoon, it even sprinkled with 92/36 combo! Not sure if I’ve ever seen rain when it’s been so dry before.

Massive contrast in temps between the inland/south and coast/north today in NSW: Wagga only reached 14° C vs. 30° C in Sydney, with an especially sharp latitudinal gradient between 34°–33° S; Young (380 m) maxed at 16° C vs. 19° C at Orange (945 m). An equally strong longitudinal gradient was noted, with Forbes (230 m) almost as cool as Orange at the same latitude. Down here it topped at just 7° C (948 m)—currently 4.4° C under low, heavy cloud (94% RH). The SW to NE gradient is plainly seen on the following chart (@ 925 mb):

Had a brief thunderstorm this morning, that dropped 0.17" (4.5 mm) of rain here. Seems like we're going to be in for a wet weather pattern - hope it pans out. Every day in the forecast has 50-70% chances of showers and thunderstorms.
Morning low was 78 F (25.6 C), 79 F (26.1 C) with a 74 F (23.3 C) dew point as of 8 am, headed up to 90 F (32.2 C) today with a 50% chance of showers and storms.
I'm headed out to Naples today, predicted high is 92 F (33.3 C) there with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
