Reykjavík, Höfuðborgarsvæðið, Iceland August 2021 I'm surprised it didn't get hotter in Reykjavik, given parts of Iceland got up to 28C this August.

Look, something cloudier than the UK posters. All it takes is "6th cloudiest in 73 years" type cloud in a cloudy climate. I think you need one of these UV lights to make up for all that cloudy weather West and north europe had some crappy August weather this year.

Pleasant, dry and quite sunny. A huge contrast from July. High Max: 25.1C (17th) Mean Max: 19.6C (+0.5C) Low Max: 14.4C (10th) Monthly Anomaly: +0.75C High Min: 13.8C (9th) Mean Min: 9.3C (+1.0C) Low Min: 3.6C (6th) Rain: 56.6mm (46.4% of average 122.0mm) Rain Days: 17 Sunshine: 204.0 hours The precipitation row on the wikibox is especially amusing. July to August rainfall at Bickley (wet as fuck place in the hills) went as so: July: 459.2mm August: 110.4mm

Wow, sunshine stats are in for August and it was way cloudier than I thought, only 210.3 hours of sunshine compared to a 30-year average of 269.6. This is our first month this year with below average sunshine, and it's our 3rd cloudiest after January and February! Very impressive. The second half of the month was noticeably cooler and cloudier but I definitely didn't think it was gonna be this low, I thought it'd be around average or only slightly below. That said, we're still way above average for this time of the year, with 2020.6 hours up to the end of August, versus a 30 year average of 1740.6. We probably won't top 2011 as the sunniest year on record after all but we'll likely still be pretty high up on the list. If the remaining four months end up getting close to their average sunshine hours then we should still top 2500 hours this year. If the dry/sunny pattern returns we might hit 2600. All-time record is 2686.0 in 2011.
