With half the month done, the month is averaging 52.1/24.6 f, which is 6.4 f above average. More like a typical November.
Still no precipitation this month and none in the forecast either. Unless something changes or there’s a front at the very end of the month, could be a totally dry month.
Shitchester hit 65 (18 c) today, impressive warmth. Unfortunately, the forecast while I’m there looks deathly boring with endless 30s and no snow.

This morning, about 2c and overcast, the university weather station That looks depressing. I would hate living at 58-59°N and seeing bare ground around the winter solstice.

Another nice, mild, partly cloudy day with high/low of 62/57 @ LGA and 61/54 @ Farmingdale, although lows will drop tonight. Also extremely dry, with dewpoints and relative humidity values in the teens. Very uncommon this time of year, this is most common in spring when we get dry downsloping westerlies combined with much more intense solar heating.

When it's hot in the southeast, the Sydney region gets the brunt of it -- Pretty impressive how Singleton and Maitland, which are more inland, don't get as hot as Penrith and Camden during heat outbursts. Though may be UHI is a factor here.

When it's hot in the southeast, the Sydney region gets the brunt of it -- Pretty impressive how Singleton and Maitland, which are more inland, don't get as hot as Penrith and Camden during heat outbursts. Though may be UHI is a factor here. The Sydney basin does get a fair old Foen effect with westerlies decending from the Blue Mountains. And depending where the pool of hot air is sited, places like Camden and Penrith generally do pretty well on hot days. This has more to do with altitude of the AWS sites as opposed to UHI. I can't see any UHI at either site, with the Penrith site being at Penrith Lakes at only 25m asl deep in the Nepean River Valley, and at the foot of the Blue Mountains. The built up areas are to the East of the location of the AWS, to the west is hill country, farmland and bush. The Camden AWS is at the Airport, also deep in the Nepean Valley and at 74m asl, surrounded by farmland. In fact the Camden AWS sees some frosts in winter, my mothers place higher up at Cobbitty rarely saw a frost on the grass.

Daily range of 18.3° / 29.5° C here—the first summery day in a while! Thunderstorm earlier, though not much in the way of rain (as it largely missed me and instead hit the Brindabellas to my north).

Copped a proper lashing from a thunderstorm here: 22.6 mm in just over a half-hour! Complete package: feral winds, explosive thunder, and lightning-packed.

Coldchurch has had a terrible start to summer with cold southerlies dominating. Wednesday had 64 mm with a high of 15 C . But they finally broke an eight day streak of sub-20 C highs yesterday:

The last frontal band was absolutely feral here, with rain rates of as much as 64 mm/hr and wind gusts of up to 90 km/h. My total for the storm system now lay at 55.7 mm, bringing my annual total to 2,037.7 mm.
As a side observation: I reckon my internet being knocked out for the last few hours (and still playing up), was on account of this storm. A tower must've been struck.
