High temps according to ECMWF and GFS...holy FARK! most of Yukon looks warmer than inland BC; looks the model has a bigger west-east temperature difference than south-north; rather European-like cold snap pattern |

Interesting chinook event back home. At one point this afternoon it was 56 f with a -17 f dew, an incredible 4% relative humidity. In C, that’s 13 c with a -27 c dew.  Also quite windy with gusts up to 46 mph, higher than the failed wind event last Wednesday. But what really takes the cake is a 23 f rise in just 10 minutes this morning! And at 2 AM when it’s 35 f above average. Sometime I’ll have to be there and outside to experience one of these swings.  |

Beautiful snow this morning! Zero wind and big fluffy flakes that slowly drift down clearly and separately. Quite different from the typical powdery snow that gets blown around all over the place.

Enough freezing rain fell overnight which left a layer of ice everywhere this morning. Ice is long gone now as it reached 46 F/8 C. Quite breezy this afternoon and evening. Current temp/windchill is 33 F/26 F (1 C/-3 C). Forecast low of 23 F/-5 C.

Looks like yesterday's high and low were exactly identical to the average high/low for today, -10.3C and -20.7C respectively. Pretty neat. This is possibly the closest I've come to seeing a day that had exactly average temperatures.

This morning, about 2c and overcast, the university weather station  That looks depressing. I would hate living at 58-59°N and seeing bare ground around the winter solstice. And if the climate here was the same as in Canada or Asia at the same latitude, would that be really better? |

Got 3.6” (9 cm) of snow last night here in Rochester. Nice fall, hopefully it’ll stick around for Christmas.

In South Florida for the week, west of Boca Ratón, gonna use West Palm Beach station even though it’s further than the closest one in Pompano, as that one is too coastal and unrepresentative of here for lows.
Ultra comfortable today, sunny and dry with a high/low of 75/50.
