Sunny here since yesterday - like a switch after the cloudy November in Jakarta area... (120 hours at the airport, 110 hours at the north coast, ~65 hours in Puncak Pass)

Could You Handle Six Days At 45-46 Degrees? ( source: Weatherzone ) Northwestern Australia has just begun an oppressive six-day heatwave that will see temperatures reaching 46 degrees for several consecutive days in some areas. A high pressure ridge passing to the south of Australia is allowing a heat trough to develop over the country's western tropics this week. This broad area of low pressure will cause a stagnant pool of hot air to build up across parts of WA and the NT, allowing temperatures to soar. Image: Forecast surface air temperature on Saturday afternoon, according to the ECMWF-HRES model. The notoriously hot town of Marble Bar is likely to be one of the hottest places in the country over the coming days. After reaching 45.6°C on Wednesday, the town is forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology to reach 45°C on Thursday and 46°C every day between Friday and Monday. While these temperatures may come as a shock to many Australians, they are not uncommon in Marble Bar at this time of year. The town's average maximum temperature in December is around 42°C and its record for the month is 49.3°C from 2018. However, this heatwave will be a decent one, even by local standards. The temperature could get above 45.5°C for six days in a row, which would be a feat that has only happened during December on three occasions during the last two decades. Increasing cloud and thunderstorm activity will help break down some of the heat in northern Australia early next week. Temperatures should return closer to average in Marble Bar from about Tuesday.

Eungella Range, west of Mackay – same place, just 3 years apart. At this time in 2018, many locations in Australia were burning from devastating bush fires. Today however, many are flooding after record-breaking rainfall associated with the current La Niña climate driver. We really do live in a land of extremes. I trust the Haybo's and the Riverina of NSW (what a fucken stupid name - "Riverina" trying to be pretentious as fuck, like some French whore) will enjoy the show. It was so delightful seeing these cells develop so close yet so far, and then herp off away to the east into the promised land of New South Fucken Wankles. "I'm a little Haybo deformed as fuck, here is my Hay, and here is my THUNDERSTORMS WHICH I STOLE FROM RENMARK BECAUSE I'M A GREEDY FAT NEW SOUTH FUCKHEAD LIKE A FAT KID AT THE END OF A CHOCOLATE ASSEMBLY LINE"

Umeå city has actually been insanely cold lately. Even in January/February this would be extreme at the Uni station, but this is right on the Nov/Dec shift.

Low -2.9C in Riga. Not as bad as Rūjiena in northern Latvia with a low of -13.1C. Sinking in snow:

Slightly less snowy than in Latvia but colder. The coldest low, -16.4c was recorded in Väike-Maarja last night in northeast. South-central part is very snowy: Officially Hiiumaa weather station has 2 cm of snow on the ground, in Kärdla, which is the center of the county, it seems that there is only a trace on the ground. My area and my photo I took today at about 11 am

Another 10cm of fresh snow in the city since yesterday. For Kållered D (start 1994) you have to back 19 years to find a thicker snow-depth so early in the season (24cm on the 19th of October 2002 during a freak snow event). Also a very weird snow distribution over Sweden right now.

The woodland round here looks like it's been hit by a bomb, tonnes of trees uprooted, pathways blocked. Someone's gonna have to clear all that. I'll take some photos next time I head down there.

Nice weather yesterday, mostly cloudy and mild with a high/low of 60/46 @ LGA and 57/43 @ Farmingdale. Quick line of storms came thru last night, with wind gusts into the 40 and small hail reports.

Snow cover in Riga has increased to 23 cm. Heavy snow in Riga has resulted not only in roads full with snow and traffic accidents, but Riga airport has been closed because of an accident in the runway: twitter.com/i/web/status/1466719609415950337So much about "northern countries are prepared for snow".

I'm spared from what seems to be a gay winter pattern for much of the USA: nah fuck you Still spared from most of the impacts. Remains close to average, which means it will be in the upper 30's. The above average BS shifts to metsfan's soft dick.

Not quite. It closed for 30 minutes in 2003, but the aim is to never repeat that.
Here's a joke,
