Ok, trains can easily be cancelled here as well, and that is quite significant snowfall, but... Ah nevermind. At least you can enjoy a nice cup of Löfbergs Lila while waiting.

Low -5.9c, high -3.9c, 17 cm of snow on the ground in Võru. Very snowy, conditions on the highways - very poor. Around noon today, I drove on the number E263, which is the largest one here in my area, and saw three cars off the road. One of them had become completely unusable. The situation was even worse on smaller roads, but there were probably no accidents there because most tried to avoid them or drove there very carefully.

Lowest temp of the season here this morning (48.9 F/9.4 C) and for the Treasure Coast in general. During periods of zonal flow, this region has very efficient radiational cooling and can record some of its coolest temps despite much warmer than normal air aloft (which was the case last night). Forecast models invariably fail to pick up on this, such as the GFS modeling 7 AM temps approx 10 F warmer than reality as close as 6 hours out. Lack of wind and clear skies is far more important for cool temps than anomalously cold upper levels.

Looks like the first sub-20 C low of the season this morning at DMK (plus dewpoints nearing single digits): Meanwhile down south they've been seeing some serious rainfall (and severe flooding). Nakhon Si Thammarat:

Might pick up a couple slushy cm of snow this morning in the Vancouver region. The next week is looking cool with several more chances of wet snow mixed with rain with temps hovering between -2c and 5c.

61 (16 c) today. Not record setting like the start to the month but still well above average. Would normally be one of the warmest days in December but with all the warmth lately it wasn’t even noticeable.
I’ll miss this weather the next week although hopefully we’ll get some good snow. I’d rather have snow than this warmth but if it’s not gonna snow I’ll take the 60s. Doesn’t even feel too warm with the low sun angle, just very pleasant in shorts and a t-shirt.

But then during the day the temperature has continued to fall, the sky has cleared up from the North and now it is already below -10C. Hopefully it won't get below -15C next night.

The ice situation in the southern Baltic looks pretty advanced for early December.

Blast of Arctic air. Yesterday it was -3.9c / -15.8c in Võru, today it promises to be even worse (or better - if you want) . At least it was sunny. Today's cold record in my area is -19.7c from 1875 for Tartu, I don't have data for Võru. Let's see if we break that record. There are some rumors that the second decade of the month will be milder: At least I have no complaints if that is the case.
