Another mild and boring morning here with a temp of 27 F (-2.8 C) and cloudy....thank fuck this mild air will be out of here shortly. Will warm up to a mild 36 F (2.2 C) but an arctic air mass is set to come rushing in today, low tonight forecast to drop all the way to -8 F (-22.2 C). We have a wind chill advisory and a Special Weather Statement for slick roads and blowing snow for tonight.
Much, much colder tomorrow. High of only 0 F (-17.8 C) in the forecast with sunny skies and strong NW winds.

CFSv2 is suggesting a mild end to winter for Northern Europe and a nice start for spring in most of Europe: ECMWF isn't looking bad either—keep the cold off Gayrope and the U.S. South: Exactly what I love to see, the CFS, Canadian, and now Euro agreeing on a nice mild February-March-April. The 3 most important months here weather-wise IMO, a fast spring warmup is essential

High/low today was 34 F/27 F (1 C/-3 C). Quite windy again with a peak gust of 33 MPH. Forecast low of 17 F/-8 C tonight. Dews support it but clouds and wind can easily prevent it from getting that low.
Next chance for accumulating snow Thursday and it's looking quite cold after tomorrow with highs only in the 20s.

Warming up to the mid 70's tomorrow with a marginal risk of severe storms with strong cold front coming. Thursday it may struggle to reach 40F. Possibility of a light wintry mix Thursday night into Friday morning! Chance of freezing rain down to the Rio Grande Valley!

Another inland drenching could be on the cards over the next week or so if the EC model scenario plays out. Interesting to see such widespread falls forecast even with the possibility of a low/tc forming up to our north somewhere next week.

Red Centre's First Waterfalls Of 2022 ( source: Weatherzone ) Waterfalls were cascading down the sides of Uluru and Kata Tjuta earlier this week as Australia’s Red Centre had its first soaking of the year. Tropical moisture being carried by the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Tiffany caused heavy rain in central Australia on Sunday and Monday. The tropical soaking transformed the typically dry Red Centre, with around 45mm of rain leaving waterfalls and pools on Uluru and Kata Tjuta on Monday. Images: Wet weather transformed Kata Tjuta on Sunday and Monday as moisture from ex-Tropical Cyclone Tiffany passed over central Australia. Images: @ceesmyth / Instagram. While waterfalls were also seen on Uluru several times in 2021, it’s not uncommon for the monolith to go months or even whole years without enough rain to make water flow down its sides. In 2019, the rain gauge at nearby Yulara Airport only received 27mm of rain during the entire year. By contrast, there has already been more than 47mm of rain in the first 19 days 2022. Uluru’s average annual rainfall is 268.1mm.

Absolutely glorious winter day here. 2 F (-16.7 F) sunny, with a breeze, crystal clear deep blue skies. This is what winter's all about.
Very cold tonight with a low of -20 F (-28.9 C) predicted, even colder tomorrow with a high of -3 F (-19.4 C) predicted, before milder (but still cold) air moves in by Friday, but some snow is forecast on Friday night.

Really nice day here, could easily pass for midwinter in my dream climate. Mostly sunny and sorta mild, with a high/low of 51/29 @ LGA and 46/21 @ Farmingdale, making it the mildest high @ LGA since the first week of the month when 60 was recorded. Rain/snow mix expected tomorrow, light accumulation possible.

Even far south TX could get in on some wintry action. Winter storm warnings as far south as nearly Brownsville. Corpus Christi area: Brownsville / Rio Grande Valley: Crazy most of these are got well into the 80s today. McAllen hit 87 F (30.6 C), Zapata hit 89 F (31.7 C), and Laredo hit 84 F (28.9 C). Big swing in weather for them.
