Reluctantly Liaoning.
Amherst is decent but the others are too mild. Waaaaaay too mild.

MA etc. for me. Liaoning has much colder winters (that are also bone dry, so probably not even very snowy) while the summers are only slightly warmer. Not a worthwhile tradeoff for me.

Southern New England in a landslide. Milder winters, more cold/mild rain, and much drier summers. In fact, summer is the driest season of the year in this region of the US, many of those places get less than 3" of rain in July

Whatever the Chinese option is Explanation? I'm sure it's because it's more subtropical than MA/RI/CT.

I'm sure it's because it's more subtropical than MA/RI/CT. Considering B87’s post history on City-Data, he thinks everywhere is more subtropical than - conveniently - anywhere in just the US. Hilarious.

Whatever the Chinese option is You like subtropical, Mediterranean climates as do I, iirc. Why pick the Chinese option, with its washout crummers and much colder winters? The Southern NE coast is borderline oceanic/warm temperate (and summer is its driest season) while the Chinese options listed here are continental monsoonal

The northeast US. The Chinese places are boring and stable and have disgusting dry cold winters.

The Northeast US for being less continental
