I saw some flashes of lightning while going for a walk last night. But I was too far away to hear any thunder. I got a few drops of rain but nothing measurable.

Warmest temp of the year in Finland today was recorded at Helsinki Airport with 13.1C. This record will last for a while I think.
The low there was -9.1C, so a day with very big diurnals again.

A quick drop in temperatures yesterday afternoon as a lake breeze came in. The salt-free version of a sea breeze. If the wind is from the east it will be chilly in spring.
Milwaukee Airport (KMKE) dropped 9F/5C in 5 minutes. I wasn't outside for that but I did expect it to be warmer than 40F when I left work since it was almost 60 earlier in the day. Date - Time - Temp - Dew - RH % - Wind Direction and Speed - Visibility - Clouds
The airport is close to the lake, but not right along it. Just for fun, here's two stations along the shoreline.
Kenosha Light House went up fast and down faster. +10F and -19F in 10 minutes. An increase as the wind changed to be slightly west/inland, and a drop as it moved from west to NNE.
Date - Time - Wind Chill - Direction - Speed - Altimeter Setting One more. Calumet Harbor on the south side of Chicago. Another -19F drop, this time in 12 minutes.

After last week’s far below average temps and snow, a switch flipped Saturday. High was 69 (20 c) today, the warmest of the year. Very dry too, with dews and relative humidity both dropping into the single digits.
Supposed to get a minor winter storm tomorrow and Thursday with some rain and light snow.

This is so weird. The official snow station near the airport recorded 50 cm of snow on the 24th of February, and now, three weeks later, only 4 cm has melted, down to 46 cm, despite the weather having been phenomenal with many days having >5'C highs, as well as a lot of sunshine. The city has also been noticably warmer than the airport, and on many days, stations just a dozen kilometers inland have recorded upwards of 5'C warmer highs. Still, how the hell can only 4cm of snow melt during all of this?! Like sure, the nights have been freezing, but there has been melting and puddles every single day

As it came with rain here, all cars look like they've just been used for a safari. The dust has arrived here today, everything looks like seen through a sepia filter. That was the case yesterday here, much less today despite the higher dust concentrations. The corollary to these exceptional dust levels was that the temperature underperformed badly compared to what was forecasted. I've rarely seen such a mess up from all forecasting websites and agencies. It was supposed to be 20°C and sunny but instead it was 13°C and overcast. What was supposed to be the warmest day of the year thus far turned out to be a particular gloomy day. It was due to the airborne dust favoring the little atmospheric humidity to condense. Stuff of Beercules' nightmares. On an unrelated note, very warm night in this coastal northern Spanish locale, with 20°C at sunrise. Then the wind shifted to onshore and shit happened: www.infoclimat.fr/observations-meteo/temps-reel/machichaco/08022.html

Absolutely insane amounts of dust over Spain and France yesterday What are the red spots? Fires. I read an article about how Kaliningrad often lights up like a christmas tree on satellite images in spring because a huge percentage of their fields are abandoned and Russia doesn't really have laws to prevent grassfires. Edit: I think the red dots are more specifically temperature and radiation patterns recorded by the satellites that are associated with fires. It's not 100% accurate.
