Had an enhanced risk of severe weather yesterday evening and overnight, the highest I’ve seen for here. However, it was more like an enhanced risk of a fizzer. The higher the risk, the higher chance it disappoints so the ratings should be for chance of a fizzer instead. Did have some sporadic rumbles of thunder and occasional bouts of rain the past hour but pretty underwhelming. Guess it counts as a thunderstorm but was a pretty weak one. Meanwhile fuck you Billings: A 27 f temo drop, 70 mph winds, 5”/hour rain rates, hail and likely lots of thunder and lightning while here all we get is few rumbles of thunder.

We had our first substantial rainfall since June yesterday - 8mm fell, bringing July’s total to 12mm. That’s still significantly below average though (average being 50mm).

28.7/20.1°C (84/68°F) and partly cloudy today.
Despite it being pretty sunny with 8 hours and a half of bright sun and much warmer than normal, with a tropical night to boot, it felt like a rather poor summer's day to me.
This is what years on end of abnormal weather does to even a local weather enthusiast.

Quite muggy today with dewpoints in the 70s. Temperature was already up to 75 F/24 C at 6AM so a very warm morning. Received 0.11 in/2.79 mm rainfall as well. It looks like today will snap the 6-day streak of 90 F/32 C+ highs.

Nice and cool today, only got to 75 (24 c) and it was overcast until the late afternoon. No rain in the 10-day forecast, i don’t buy that but still you never see a completely dry forecast like that here.
Only 6 rain days out of 25 this month, would end as the lowest in many years if it didn’t rain the rest of the month. More impressive than the total which is dry but not really noteworthy.

Awesome temp discrepancy in the southeast (due to foehn effect). Compare Orange's 3C to Sydney's 19C.

A much needed break from the heat and humidity today. High low was a very benign 80/59 F (27/15 C). Actually felt a little chilly this morning after multiple mornings near 70 F/21 C. Yesterday morning was already up to 75 F/24 C at 6AM.
Another cool night on tap with a forecast low of 59 F/15 C. A little hotter tomorrow with a high of 86 F/30 C.

I've been in Emerald Isle, NC the past few days. It's been warm and humid but not super hot, like usual. I brought a portable thermometer/hygrometer with me, and it measured 85°F (29.5C) with a dewpoint of 77°F (25°C) in the shade. We haven't gotten any thunderstorms since I've been here, which is a bit unusual.

Looks like the mountains ( coast / north cascades) are trapping clouds . Odd pattern during a heat wave . Inversion? 🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿

So glad I don't live there! Could be a fair few fire starts due to the mostly dry lightning associated with the scattered thunderstorms across the BC interior over the next few days.

Fort Collins had 2.22” (56 mm) of rain Thursday morning, according to my friends it stormed all night and morning. Epic weather but of course it had to be when I’m in Shitchester Typical, the interesting weather occurs when I’m not there. First day with 2” since 2017 as well. The official total at the coop station hasn’t come in but it was almost certainly enough to boost this month to the 8th wettest July and the wettest since 1997. Meanwhile nothing happened except lame thunder less rain this morning here. Even Las Vegas is getting more storms, I forgot just how Shitchester really is.
