Much cooler today, high was only 60 (16 c) compared to 96 (36 c) yesterday. Very refreshing and was cloudy all day. Started raining in the evening, up to 0.12β (3 mm) so far.
Edit: apparently the average high of 93.6 f is the hottest first 8 days of September on record. Only a couple daily records but still very consistent heat to start the month.
Interesting weather in California, San Diego had dews in the 73-74 f range with heavy rain all afternoon. Very tropical weather for there. Some places in the mountains had 100+ mph winds.

NWS is giving me 3.35" of rain through Monday...yeah I'll believe it when I see it. Crazy to see what's happening in SoCal thanks to Kay as well.

And just six days after setting our all-time September heat record, we've now had our first official freeze! Currently sitting at -0.2C but could drop even a little bit more before it starts warming up.

Currently in Bangkok. Annoyingly muggy during the day and wet and (relatively) chilly at times in the evening. Thank God I wear waterproof shoes. 274 mm (10.8") MTD, approaching the average monthly tally of 334 mm after 1/3rd of the month.

Pleasant day here. 82 F/28 C with a dewpoint of 55 F/13 C and sunny as of 2:30PM. Low this morning was 52 F/11 C. While it's still warm, can definitely feel the seasonal transition with a lower/weaker sun and coolish nights.

High was only 54 (12 c) today, was a chilly day but felt nice and refreshing especially with the mist in the morning. Unfortunately itβs back to 80s and sunny for the foreseeable future though.
Thursday was the 51st 90 f of the year, the 2nd most of all time behind 2012.
Top 4 most 90s in a year:
1. 2012 -57 2. 2022 -51+ 3. 2020 -49 4. 2021 -48
Shows how hot the past 3 summers have been, of course since I moved here.

Variable this past week in ChCh. Looks like a new monthly record low was set on the 7th and I'm told they even had a light snowfall. Well below average temps set to continue next week. --- Been a wet week in BKK with over 250 mm recorded in total. A bit gloomy but still managed some nice long fine spells some days:

We got the same cold front that Steelernation got, albeit significantly moderated. It's currently 76Β°F (24.5Β°C) with a dewpoint of 51Β°F (10.5Β°C), and I forgot weather could feel this nice.

Yesterday's rain total here officially closed at 2.18" (55.4 mm). Impressive. Pissed down at a pretty consistent 0.1" or so per hour all day.
High was 58 F (14 C), the first sub-60 high since May 3 here in Madison. Brace yourselves: winter is coming!

Besides a handful of days with very small amounts of rain, there has been no decent precipitation to speak of here since August 17th.

Southwestern edge part of the country reached 40.7Β°C today. Not sure about the credibility of the station though. BΓ©gaar (40)
