Thunderstorms are a hotly debated topic on this forum. Most users here, unsurprisingly, are huge fans of thunderstorms. However, there are also a few who have an intense dislike of thunderstorms.
Rate what you think of thunderstorms overall, and why you chose that rating.

A+. Only reason theyโre not an A++ is theyโre annoying if Iโm out hiking.

C+/B- if thereโs heavy rain. Dry thunderstorms are a solid F.

Fucken A! Thunderstorms are the spice of life. The best type of thunderstorms are ones with heavy rain, frequent thunder/lightning and little wind. Main reason it's not an A++ from me is because I don't necessarily need them to occur 300 days a year, though.

A+ recurring.
Thunderstorms provide a wealth of benefits, ranging from the fantastic skyscapes from the majestic towering cloud structures from a distance to the boiling dark smoky cloud bases and shelf clouds, the excitement of the winds, intense rain and hail, and of course the lightning and sound of thunder itself. Seeing as these are a bit rare where I live, I am probably easily impressed by most others' standards. Thunderstorms are what stimulated my main interest in weather.

Iโll give a B because theyโre good, albeit conditionally. I like them to occur with temps cooler than 65ยฐF if they bring rain. Dry thunderstorms are always nice. Spring and fall should be quite stormy. I seem to have a very rare view of storms on this forum. Most people love them or despise them, I just like them.

I don't care if they have precipitation or not but of course that makes it better.
Thunderstorms are cleansing either way. Climates with summers without thunderstorms are anti-life.

A-
They're great to witness and I appreciate good ones with frequent lightning, thunder and heavy rain, but I don't think they're the most important thing in a climate. I'm also surprised at how many people are die-hard fans of thunderstorms on this forum. Maybe because my location isn't that stormy, I never really thought about it much.

B-. They're a beautiful weather phenomenon, but they're not fun to be in or to be disturbed by.

When they happen in winter or mid summer, A.
If they happen on a warm sunny day in March or April and crash the temperature, they can fuck off.

Bump because I feel like it. I stand with my B- rating, I like the look of lightning but hate the sound

I like dry summers, so many places east of the Rockies with summers jam-packed with thunderstorms and rainfall are not for me. Dry thunderstorms with minimal precipitation are fine though. It's fun watching the occasional T-storm but I wouldn't want them to be a regular feature of my climate. Plus, I get scared that I'll get struck by lightning lol

Z-^gazillion. You are thrilled when lights are striking until it takes you away. I passionately wish such weather phenomenon didnโt existed on this planet.

They are great and interesting. The only thing that I don't like about them is that they crash down temperatures pretty swiftly (at least here they do), and I want stable, hot summer temps.

B. They would be an A+ if tornadoes didn't exist.

D.
Sometimes they are exciting if you're not outside and don't get to hear the thunder. However... They are not exciting because of the wildfires they cause. They are not exciting because of the disruption it causes to outdoor plans. They are not exciting because it keeps you awake at night.
