I stole this idea from Netweather. Using one month from each of the years 2011-2022, create an ideal year for your location. Every year has to be represented. My 2011-2022 ideal London. Jan, Oct and Nov are only there because other months used up those years. Jan 2014 Feb 2019 Mar 2012 Apr 2011 May 2020 Jun 2017 Jul 2013 Aug 2022 Sep 2016 Oct 2021 Nov 2018 Dec 2015

Good thread idea, makes you think more than a simple cherrypick. Jan 2014 Feb 2018 March 2016 April 2021 May 2015 June 2019July 2022 βthis was the worst month, wanted to use July 2014 but January 2014 was easily the best January and 2022 was a shit year so July was the least offensive month from it. August 2017Sept 2020Oct 2011Nov 2013 -2013 had much better months but I used other years for those and none of the Novembers stood out Dec 2012 -Also subpar but 2012 was such a shit year there were only a few acceptable months and there werenβt any great Decembers This βyearβ totaled 58 thunderstorms, a pretty good effort for here. Despite the too hot July, this is definitely an A.

Actually, thinking more I could bring in June 2018 for November 2017. June 2018 was as warm as 2017 but drier and sunnier. Nov 2017 was a bit cooler but still pretty normal. Good idea of a thread. I'm a heat wanker, so here you go: January - 2012 February - 2018 March - 2022 April - 2017 May - 2019 June - 2015 July - 2011 August - 2016 September - 2014 October - 2013 November - 2020 December - 2021 Key takeaways: - I put the greatest amount importance to summer heat, while also picking the warmer fall months (so that the transition doesn't feel like ripping off a Band-Aid). - I also tried to avoid the spring months that saw substantial cold snaps, but that wasn't completely avoidable (e.g. mid-March 2022's cold snap). - I've compromised the two above facts between winter temps (all months except January 2012 have their warmest maxima above the average 1991-2020 monthly mean maxima).

Why only 2011 though? Why not go further back?

Why only 2011 though? Why not go further back? Because then you have to use each year once and thereβs 12 years, would defeat the point if you could use the whole por

eh whatever... anyway here is mine: edit: not all months are from 2015, just forgot to edit that out in the title there. However, the first three month are from 2015.

There are 12! = 479,001,600 possible combinations so I wrote a program to figure it the solution with the lowest annual mean temp. Jan 2011 Feb 2015 Mar 2013 Apr 2017 May 2016 Jun 2014 Jul 2021 Aug 2018 Sep 2019 Oct 2022 Nov 2012 Dec 2020

Why only 2011 though? Why not go further back? It can be any 12 year period you want. But for the sake of this thread, it's the most recent complete 12 year period. If you use the entire record then it's just a repeat of those 'best theoretical year' threads. I sacrificed October and November to get better months in other years. I could have gone for a better September as well, but that would have meant picking 2011, 2012 or 2018, which all had good months I wanted to use. It makes you have to prioritise if you only get to pick each year once. I skipped July 2022 and July 2018 which were both better than July 2013, but July 2013 was also good and about the only decent month in that entire year.

Did not understand why it was only the past 12 years and nothing from before. I'll come up with a 1999-2010 for Charlottetown later or maybe 2004-2015.

2004-2015: Maybe not ideal with that wet late summer but it would be interesting.

Here's mine 2012-2023 (not quite perfect, but easily an A- thanks to the improved sunshine to rainfall ratio): January 2012 (Dry, but slightly sunnier than normal) February 2018 (Wet, but quite sunny) March 2013 April 2017 (A little cloudy, but mildly warm highs) May 2020 (A little cloudy, but 2020 was not a good year) June 2019 (Wet, but moderately sunny and with a few warm days) July 2016 August 2021 September 2023 (Dry and warm with five hot days) October 2014 (A little cloudy, but wet and with a few hot days) November 2022 (The best of a bad year) December 2023 This was quickly constructed and definitely not perfect (eg. Jan 2013 is better than Jan 2012), but its still an improvement!

Losing 2011 and gaining 2023 means I will have to make quite a few changes.
I'd want to bring in September 2023, but that would mean giving 2016's month to April, which was awful.
Absolutely nailed on months:
