I've been hearing fffunder for like 6 hours straight. Rediculous, Med-level insanity. And this after a 38.6°C/101°F high. Quite the intense summer day. <3 4-hour radar loop: The diameter of the anvil is maybe 500 km: Rediculous hail as well Mammatus earlier: No widespread 40s as seen by some models though Sallanches - La Charlotte near Chamonix did hit 40.2°C/104°F. 100°F+ temps up to 1000 m / 3000' asl. Also Vizille near Grenoble did experience a Bangkok-esque 37.8/25.6°C (100/78°F) temp/dew point combo. Imagine being at London latitude and and still having 30C at midnight Kurgan at 55N ejoying 41C wowwww Celno-Versiny (dont know how to pronounce it) 54N. 28C minimal.... This seems the region most prone to hot mins relative to its latitude. And it's no slouch either in terms of maxes, even if the PNW gave it a run for its money a couple years ago. Regarding 30°C at midnight at London latitude I'm not surprised. In Paris about 340 km from London (and maybe 250 km equatorwards) I've seen 30°C+ temps at midnight a few times, lasting up to 2 am in extreme cases. 28°C lows, otoh, are unheard of.

Alice Springs recorded their first sub zero min of the month this morning -0.5c. There was only one sub zero min in June and three in May. Marked difference compared to July 2022 with 19 sub zero mins ! Winter 2023 ( so far ) and winter 2022.

Norman has turned into hell these past couple days with heat indices exceeding 110°F (43°C). Today we had a period of time where the temperature was 93°F (34°C), the dewpoint was 80°F (27°C), and the heat index was 112°F (44°C). Just plain gross.

Canary Islands are a wonderful mess; not as boring as they look at a glance
Temperature in Tasarte reached 44.9C and stayed between 39C and 41C overnight due to foehn (locally known as 'barajada'). Glad it cooled down after sunrise so people can enjoy a nice low of... 29C.

Some 81-82°F dewpoints yesterday evening in the area, that equals or is marginally higher than anything I've had so far this summer (highest dewpoint so far at my PWS here is 81°F)

Key West hasn't had a heat index below 95°F (35°C) in at least three days: w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KEYW.htmlAt least in our disgusting heat and humidity it is usually not terrible between the hours of midnight and 8 am (man I feel sad thinking about how few hours of acceptable weather we've gotten the last few days).

Apparently the FL Keys are getting sea temps in the low-mid 90s, basically Arabian Gulf water temps.
