So HNMS has a new WMO met station in Sparta around 2km north of the current one from NOA. So far it appears hotter than the NOA station. Let's see... Isn't HNMS the official network for Greece that has data for longer PoR than NOA? Probably has to do with local geography why the HNMS one is hotter. I'm sure it's more well placed than the NOA rooftop ones that are in Greece. The NOA station in Sparta is not a rooftop station. Check my previous post where I have provided the station photo. HNMS had a station in Sparta AP which is like 20km south of Sparta proper. It was operational for many years but its not representative of what is happening in Sparta proper. The past 20 days we have a brand new HNMS station in Sparta which seems even hotter than the one from NOA. HNMS does not place stations on rooftops. The brand new HNMS station is located 2km north of Sparta NOA and placed on the grass as per WMO standards. The new HNMS stations currently all over Greece are top notch met MICROSTEP-MIS stations worth around 30.000 euros each. HNMS is receiving a major upgrade being moved from the Ministry of National Protection to the new Climate Crisis Ministry. The upgrade is gonna cost around 12 million Euros and it includes hundreds of new HNMS stations all over the country. The whole project is funded mostly by the EU and from the private sector.

Ok, the Sparta stations actually don't look badly placed. Seriously though, the "Climate Crisis Ministry"? Maybe this is why your country's economy is not doing too hot...

Sparta is the only reasonable answer even if it’s not as hot as the ABSOLUTE CHAMPION OF EUROPEAN HEAT.

Btw from the preliminary data we have so far, Sparta HNMS is hotter by 0.5C in mean maxes compared to Sparta NOA.
It's still too early for meaningful comparisons but that's the general trend.

Cordoba is warmer than Sparta. Sparta is colder than Cordoba. Daily maxes are always more warmer in Cordoba than in Sparta.

Cordoba is warmer than Sparta. Sparta is colder than Cordoba. Daily maxes are always more warmer in Cordoba than in Sparta. Yeah but Andalusia basically exhausts its heat dynamic in Cordoba. In Sparta we only have 2 stations relatively nearby. The rest of the Evrotas Valley is pretty much unexplored. Especially north of Sparta it might be plausible to find areas warmer than Cordoba. Read my initial post.

Yeah but who cares? Sparta and Córdoba have zero SEC championships combined, so suck it.
