Yesterday I took the bus down from Luleå to Umeå and the bus generally stayed the same distance from the sea the entire time. It was very clear how the leaf out varied from place to place and what became really clear is something I drew a map of.  During heatwaves especially in the late spring and summer, it seems as if the coastal weather follows more of a straight line along the "average" coastline as shown by the red line, as opposed to hugging the coastline at a set distance. The area marked in red was by far the furthest ahead in terms of leaf out, whereas the blue area (very much adjacent) had nearly no leaves at all. I've noticed that around Skellefteå the hottest temps can get quite close to the coastline whereas in Umeå there's usually up to a 5'C contrast between Umeå airport and just a dozen kilometers inland. Over all the blue area (as well as Umeå) seem to be more heavily affected by the sea (in all seasons) compared to for example the red area. |

I swear to God, Benny must be a prophet.
Last night I was excited about getting a good storm today, so I talked about that in the shitbox. Orange warning for T-storms, damn it's gonna be EPIC.
Benfxmth quite confidently said that the storm will die right in the ass before it reaches Zagreb, and after it herps away it will regenerate.
Guess wtf happened today?
I was in the city at the time of the storm, and I heard some rumbling outside. So I went outside only to be met by a fucking drizzle and a few weak ass farts. I saw exactly 0 lightnings, and there was not a lot of rain that was forecasted. Every place in the path of the storm got hit hard. Heavy downpours, lightning, strong wind, there was some damage done too (as was confirmed by the news). Except fucking Zagreb.
And of course, a cherry on top of the cake:
Bitch got reconnected after it passed me.

Big difference in temps today. Above 20C in the Turku region and north of us, lower than 5C highs in the northernmost parts of the country.

Forecast low for this morning was 2C, but ended up being -2C. Most likely coz of the disgusting overcast 14C high yesterday, the overcast cleared just in time for sunset... ice on the windscreen in the morning... -2C forecast tonight, then next week looking beautiful. May will end with 0.0mm of rain.  |
