Lake Eildon is in central Victoria and has notably cloudy winters. I've always been baffled as to how it can have British levels of sunshine in June and July at 37 degrees south, plus being more inland than Melbourne. Otherwise, it's got a pretty typical inland Vic climate with warm dry summers (but cool nights) and cool wet winters.

C+ ...I grew up in Northern Vic, so used to this sorta climate.... reasonably bland, once in a blue moon there is some extreme heat, nothing extreme re cold there in the foothills of the Great Dividing Ranges. So, bland and inoffensive deserves a C+.

B-/C+ Nice temperatures Precipitation is okay, would prefer drier overall and fewer rain days in winter. Too cloudy, especially in winter.

One of the better climates in all of AU. Gets an A- from me. Good temps, good rainfall pattern. Just a bit too laggy and not dry enough in summer.

B+, a little too cool for an A but it's very good. Agree the sunshine is strange.

C+
Precipitation pattern is in the right direction but I wish summers were even drier. I wish the overall climate was drier as well.
Great temps aside from winters being slightly too mild for my liking. The occasional winter snowfall would improve this climate.

Bri'ish levels of sunshine? Oi! How dare you. We don't get that much sun in winter!!
Seriously now, I'd give this a C+. Would prefer less cold boring rain in winter and, and lower maxes in summer, but at least it cools down nicely at night. I'm guessing there are few thunderstorms.

C+. Hate the occasional northerly from the desert. JUN and JUL sunshine hours are surprisingly low for Australia.

C. Nice temps but way too few storms in summer and probably never snows. Might get the odd flurry once a decade... but in reality too low altitude. Located in the foothills of the Great Divide, and it is hilly country off to the south and east. The Eildon Fire Tower and Rubicon SEC sites within 6klm and 13klm nearby are at 637m and 837m asl respectively and do ok re snowfalls every winter. You can see the reduced temp means re altitude in the figures here:

D- for being detestable for Aussie standards. The winter sunshine is abominable and inexcusable for sure. The town is extremely windward, very exposed to "icy" westerlies from the southwest, hence the frequent cloud cover in winter. This climate is more suited to be somewhere in France or northern Spain. But then again, Victoria is very cool for its latitude as summers go (looks at you Failbourne). Either way, Australia is indeed pretty mild and lacking for its latitude dare I say.
For the analysts in here, are the sunshine hours even accurate? Can youse check on them on the town's BOM page and see if the conversions are correct? I don't know, something tells me they're a bit understated. They're more Tasmanian level of winter sunshine, and even Tasmanian cities aren't that cloudy in winter!

They are taken from the BoM page stats I posted up earlier, accurate it seems.
